“Wonderful owner, staff, and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Spent three great days at Casa Gottardi in November. Suzanna and Tanya were wonderful hostesses. Tanya helped with our bags, gave a map and orientation session, and welcoming refreshments. The rooms are large and very clean, as is the bathroom. You have free range of the kitchen and its appliances. Breakfast is large, healthful, and delicious. The location, just three blocks from the Rialto Bridge, and less than one block from the Grand Canal, puts you right in the center of Venician culture.

Room Tip: All rooms are prime.

“Fantastic B&B”

I stayed at Casa Gottardi on my last stop through Italy and it was one of the best B&B's I've been to during my trip. Susanna is a wonderful hostess - she provided me a map of Venice, restaurant suggestions and offered me tea/coffee/juice/cookies/water as soon as I arrived. The B&B was clean, spacious and warmly decorated - a 30 second walk to the Rialto Bridge and 10 minutes at the most to San Marco. Breakfast is just stupendous: a basket of warm baked goods with a croissant, jams, butter, fresh cappucino with foam, yogurt and a fresh fruit plate all on a tray brought to your room. Susanna was always available for any questions/suggestions and helped me navigate the vaporetto system and how to get to the airport. I would absolutely recommend to a friend and stay here again without question - exceptional.

“Hidden gem near the Rialto Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

This lovely B&B is very near the Rialto Bridge but on a quiet side street. Susanna and her staff are really friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and looked recently refurbished. Their refrigerator is loaded with bottled drinking water which guests can freely bring with them (very convenient since drinking water is expensive in Venice). My only "complaint" is the 3-story flight of stairs which can be cumbersome if you have a heavy luggage. Above average breakfast. Will definitely stay here again!

“Amazing hospitality at Casa Gottardi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

What sets Casa Gottardi completely apart from others is the hospitality shown by the hosts: Susanna, Eugenia and Giovanni. Our hosts could not be more friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with snacks, drinks and recommendations for restaurants. The breakfast is also generous with fruits, warm pastries, yogurts, juices and coffee. Each morning, we could not finish all of the food because there was so much!

The room was spotless and spacious. We stayed in the room pictured above (window on the left, 2 twin beds as well as bunk beds). The ensuite bathroom was also spacious with plenty of towels provided. The A/C was strong and quiet, providing relief from the heat. The B&B is also very quiet since there are only a few rooms.

The B&B is in a great location by the Rialto Bridge. This area tends to be less touristy (yet only a 10 min walk to Piazza San Marco) so the restaurants/shops are better value. Also, since its steps from the Rialto bridge, it was very easy to find, since there are signs everywhere pointing to Rialto bridge.

We loved staying here and we will definitely return on our next visit to Venice!

Room Tip: If you have heavy/rolly luggage, follow Susanna's directions from the train and take boat #1 to...

“A lovely B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We had a wonderful stay in his B&B. The B&B was in an excellent location: right besides the Rialto Bridge, but in a quite back street. Our room had a king-size bed and a set of bunker beds. The room was spacious and very clean.

Susanna and her staff were super nice. Their breakfast was generous and delicious. They even organized all our clothes nicely in the closet.

Highly recommended!
