“I can't wait to go back!”

This was a fantastic place to stay. I appreciated it's quiet location and small size. It was easy to walk to everything I wanted to see too (but I walk miles per day, so any distance here was nothing), and the neighborhood was nice as well. I really enjoyed breakfast. The food was good, but the conversations between myself, the other guests, and even the owner were better. As for basics... the mattress was fine and I slept well, the shower worked, and the place is kept clean. Tea and coffee are available in the kitchen all day. The rooms are not big, but I don't care about that, and wasn't there to spend time in my room anyway. The owner's dining suggestions were fantastic too. As an often solo female traveler, I'm picky about where I stay, and this was a overall great choice. The next time work sends me in that direction, I'll definitely make another side trip back to Venice and this B&B.

“Excellent - I would go back again...and again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We arrived late on a Friday evening and found the place quite easily. It was much easier to get to than I had anticipated. Although it was dark, we could tell it was nice and homely. It was warm too which in mid-Jan is a definate plus. We woke up with a fantastic canal view and things got better from there. The owner, Mattia, was a delight to talk to, and shared lots of excellent tips for us when travelling around Venice. In particular, he recommended some lovely local restaurants which are far superior to the ones with tourist menus. The breakfast was perfect, and it's nice that you get to chat to other travellers over breakfast.

The location is spot on - pretty much everything is accessible by foot - Rialto is a nice 10 minute stroll. San Polo and San Marco is just a touch further - prob a 20-25 minute wander to San Marco.

In terms of value for money, we've never stayed in better accommodation and will certainly be recommending it to friends and probably going back ourselves when we get the chance.

Do not stay anywhere else in Venice.

“A gem not for everyone”

Are you looking for big standard 4/5 stars hotel with huge king size bedrooms furnished with fake baroque golden stuff and maybe for a tour around S.Mark Square eating a pizza in (trap-for-tourist) restaurant suggested by the same 4/5 stars hotel and finally listening to a mandolino ? Well this is not the right place you should stay.

Are you looking for small cozy well renovated picturesque guest house located in not touristic and alive Cannaregio's district, with nice bedrooms, real antique furnitures and quiet view over a canal, where its Venetian onwer suggests local oriented small restaurants and hidden itineraries through the wonderful, real and unknown Venice? Well this is the right please for you!

Thanks Mattia for making us fall in love with such a glorious town.

We'll be back

Room Tip: we hade canal view. it is great view.

“Great Experience in Venice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

Directions from the train station are not as complicated or long as they appear, we did it at night, in the rain with almost no issues. The B&B is older but clean, well-kept and the room itself has an amazing mattress and large shower with fantastic water pressure.

The owner is very helpful giving us tons of suggestion of places we could see in Venice other than the main tourist spots. He also suggests restaurants that are not the typical tourist traps that are all over Venice. There is internet available and although it did go down Mattia went the extra mile to help us get back online. Breakfast is typical of other B&B's we have stayed at in Italy. They do have excellent cappuccino!

The location is in a great spot, 15 minutes (max) to both the train station and St. Mark's Square, 5 minutes to the Rialto. Great stay at Ponto Chiodo we would come back here again!

“Relaxing Location - Great Venice Lodging”

We booked 3749 Ponte Chiodo for two nights in October prior to a transatlantic cruise that departed from Venice. It is VERY easy to reach and the walks are MUCH shorter than the website's description sounds like. We came from the airport on the Alilaguna to P'Nove with a short, 10 minute walk pulling rolling luggage. Only one small bridge. We left using the waterbus from Ca d'ora which is a super short, flat walk of 5 minutes. The Inn is quiet, clean and perfectly located. The owner helps with dining suggestions, etc. The garden was a nice touch and we would have used it more had the weather been warmer. The breakfasts are rather spartan by American standards but you do get cappuccino with cute designs on top!

If back in Venice I will definitely stay here again.

We had no real negatives, other than the super-light continental breakfast but friends traveling with us had issues with the heating system. It appears to be on a timer and not really under the customers control. I saw no cooling system but not an issue for us as it was October.

Room Tip: First floor rooms (there are two) which is the 2nd floor to Americans are your best choice. Second f...
