“Very good”

The Locanda is basic but clean and you don't want for anything. The staff are helpful and friendly, which is something that you don't always get in Venice. The price was reasonable for a double room with ensuite, for Venice, although very pricey if it was any other city.

The location is a bit away from the action so expect a small walk to any reasonable place for dinner.

I recommend this place for anyone who just wants somewhere to sleep and nothing else.

“Nice and Cozy, well connected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We booked it very late- and couldn’t get the best rooms. However, the landlord is a very fair man- as soon as I booked the room ( through Hostelworld.com ), he dropped me an email informing that the room I booked was with end-to-end beds, and might not be suitable for a couple. I couldn’t have done much because I was very late in booking- and almost every room in Venice was taken. However, I liked the honest working style of this BnB. Overall, the experience was great – location is good, breakfast is also good- and they provide some very good tips for visiting Venice. If I go back, maybe I would stay in a different area of Venice, just to enjoy it from a different view- however, I will still recommend this place to all my friends and family!

“Excellent hotel- Ca Bunta”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

We stayed in the sister hotel a few
Minutes walk away- Ca Bunta. It was lovely. It only had seven rooms each off the hugh reception hall in this converted palace. Our room was big well furnished and spotless. The bathroom was small but clean. Breakfast was good and taken at one of the tables in the reception hall which had enomous paintings and chandeliers- very glam! The staff were lovely- friendly and helpful. The location is good and a short walk to St Marks. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great value.

“Excellent service, thank you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 June 2011

This hotel and the sister hotel Ca Bauta are excellently located, a single room is what is says, single - small but very clean and tidy. Fantastic location, easy to find from water bus stop Fondamento Nova. Most impressive 5 star service from all the staff, extremely helpful, genuinely friendly. Would definitely return. Thanks for a fab visit and a great place to stay during my exhibition at Venezia Project 2011

“Nice pensione, good location, poor night's sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2011

I stayed here for one night with two friends in May 2011. It's difficult to know precisely where to stay in Venice and we found it next to impossible to find a place in a good location because we were booking shortly before coming (lesson - book Venetian accommodation waaay in advance of your arrival). We paid €39 per person for a three bed bedroom ensuite (which unfortunately turned out to be one double room and one really terrible camp bed. As I'm male and was travelling with two female friends, they shared the double bed and I was banished to the camp bed.

The ensuite was good and clean, reliable hot water and enough for all of us (Venice is STICKY).

I'm a relatively fit guy and not overweight - the minute I sat on the campbed it collapsed under me. Upon lifting the mattress, I found that quite a few of the wooden slats weren't in position correctly and fixed this, but the bed intermittetly collapsed (including once memorably during the night while turning over). Pretty alarming way to be woken up at 4am, if hilarious.

We paid around €3 for breakfast which was good - I had lemon tea, my friends had different variations of coffee, with a croissant each + bread rolls + packets of melba toast. Condiments, butter etc included.

Lady on reception was lovely and really helpful.

All in all a mixed bag but good overall. I think I was just a little unlucky with the camp bed. I'd have done something about it if I was staying a second night and did mention it when we were checking out.
