“Convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Good: central location so very easy to get to, but manages to be peaceful inside. Charmingly-decorated interior, very clean. Tasty pastries for breakfast. Warm welcome from Nicola. Free maps, which he helpfully marked with various restaurants and good gelaterias.

Bad: The shower drain in one of our rooms kept on blocking repeatedly. Luckily we could use the shower in the other room, but this was not ideal. Otherwise no complaints. If you are bringing very heavy luggage beware that there is no lift and about 2 flights of stairs. I shared a room converted from double to triple with my cousins and it was slightly on the tight side. Of course that may have been because we had eaten too many ice-creams...

“Small but perfectly formed”

My family of 4 (2 adult children), stayed in late December 2011. This hotel is very small (only 6 rooms) but oozes charm and quality. On seeing my 2 adult children, we were upgraded to 2 rooms which was welcomed as the rooms are not huge.
The hotel location is superb, near St Marks and all the attractions of Venice. A light breakfast is served each day and there are heaps of restauarants around although on recommedation you may wish to look outside the tourist areas for the better ones. Nicola will will help you in any way in this matter.
We would certainly stay at Ca del Nobile again.
Just a word of caution, we were approached by several persons offering water taxis to the city for 60-100 euros. Do not use these. The ACTV water shuttle is only 6-7 euros per person but you have to walk a little way from the train / bus terminal to get to it. It is clearly marked.

“Extremely well run.”

A gem in the heart of Venice. We were on our honeymoon in Italy and booked the Ca' del Nobile on-line based on the excellent reviews and of course it's perfect location. The staff that we dealt with, Vitalia and Nicola run a great hotel. Very professional! From the email contacts with hotel directions to making sure all our needs were taken care of. We would defiantly stay there again and will recommend the hotel to any of our friends planning a trip to Venice.

“Nice room, but no atmosphere”

Whilst Ca' del Nobile is close to St Mark's, the location is otherwise undesirable, with only touristy eateries and expensive shops selling tourist gimics. (If in Venice again, we would stay north of the Rialto, or perhaps near the market.)

Some staff were helpful, others not particularly. However over 3 days were struggled to get any good restaurant recommendations! And there were not always staff available... Breakfast was fine, but we did have to supplement it most mornings in a nearby cafe.

“Quiet magical retreat in the center of San Marco”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Our family of five spent two days and one night in Venice on Sunday December 18th and wanted a hotel that was quiet and central to the sites since two of us were arriving in Italy that day and were travel weary, but ready to explore. We found, not only a quiet hotel, but an almost magical retreat. Quiet, well appointed and furnished, romantic and gracious.
We were greeted by the most lovely hostess, Vita, was multilingual, gracious and lovely. She was also a fount of information. With lost luggage, our two arrivees needed to buy clothes for and supplies; Vita found us an affordable source, which was also lovely. She recommended what turned out to be a lovely enoteca for dinner-very few tourists, and made us reservations.
The next day, she helped us chart our day to the best advantage and sort through the myriad of choices, avoiding many of the touristy areas so we could explore other areas, as well as recommendations for water buses and she stored our luggage for us.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat, both for the hotel, and the location, and for their brilliance in hiring such a wonderful concierge.
