“AVOID -If If you want to be sure your accommodation will be there - then NEVER book this place”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2009

I booked this through expedia and received confirmation of my booking.
I turned up to find that the owners had allegedly cancelled my booking although with no email notification of expedia or myself.
With Venice full, i spent 2 hours wandering round venice at 10 pm eventually finding a romm at 170 euros, 2 hours on the phone with expedia the next day (who confirmed that they had not been notified of cancellation). When expedia could offer me no accommodation under 570 euros per night in venice i spent another 2 hours knocking on hotel doors finding my own.

If you want to be sure that your accommodation will be there - then NEVER book this place

“Centrally located Apartment in Canneregio near Ponte Guglie and Venice Ghetto”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2007

We took the Ca' Rubino apartment for four people, essentially 2 rooms. It is a renovated apartment with one master bedroom with Air conditioning, TV, dresser with drawers & closets. There is also a living room/dining room/kitchen/ sofa bed room, this "common room" has an Air conditioning (not as good as the one in the bedroom), pull out sofa bed, stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator and cabinets. this is good if you want to cook food or buy drinks and keep them in the fridge.

The apartment is located in the alleys of Venice, and is a couple minuets walk from the Ponte Guglie which is a main street with shops and a ferry station in Canneregio. It is very close to the Ghetto.

We had reserved the apartment through a website with a credit card at a certain price. When we spoke to the women she:

1) would not accept credit cards and

2) switched the price on us (jacking it up by about Euros 150) but we were smart and brought a copy of the confirmation from the website, we ended up paying the original amount by money transfer.

Overall it was a nice apartment and conveniently located plus it is in a very quiet "residential" area. If you care about a fridge and or kitchen facilities than its better to stay at a hotel.

This accommodation for 4 is good for either a couple with 2 or less kids or a couple and 2 friends or family .

“Great studio apartment in good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2006

Studio apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Apartment includes small fridge, stove, dishwasher, AC and TV. The accomodations only have a sofabed. Apartment is small, but comfortable (for 2 people).
Only place we found in the city at a reasonable price. We reseved with credit card, but were asked to pay cash when we arrived. I told our contact to charge the card used for resevation and she agreed without much problem (10 minute discussion). Supermarket is close by, bought some food to reduce expenses. We sat outside the apartment our last night and a neighbor stopped for a chat and drink. We felt like locals. Vaporetto station is a 2 min walk. All attractions are a short walk away. Enjoy a walk through Venice back streets, its a great experince.

  • Disliked — Could not find lamp switch
  • Tips/Secrets — Stop by supermarket to get snacks and breakfast supplies. Venice is very expensive.
