“Old world hospitality at the Casanova”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

person found this review helpful

This was our third time at the Villa and, as on the previous two occasions, Alessandro made us very welcome. Apart from the convenience of being able to park your car without paying through the nose, the Villa Casanova provides a top-notch breakfast, sufficiently spacious accommodation, free wifi and an on-hand tourist information office in the shape of Alessandro.
Some travellers might be put off by the fact that the villa is located on the Lido, but we find it offers the possibility to wind down after the hustle and bustle of old-town Venice.
Value for money wise the Villa is excellent and it is such a pleasure not to have the feeling of being ripped off but rather to enjoy the company of a charming host.

“Lovely place to say”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Enoyed another wonderful stay at Villa Casanova, and a great place to spend our wedding anniversary. Our room was spacious with a four poster bed and a modern, clean bathroom. The breakfasts were as good as ever with an endless supply of lovely coffee. Alessandro and his staff are fantastic and will do everything they can to make your stay a memorable one.

“Perfect Venice accommodation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Alessandro is amazing! Very warm and accommodating, he made us feel at home immediately. He remembered our respective morning coffee drinks but what's more: he makes GREAT espresso.

One night we grabbed the wrong keys and when we called him he said, "I'll be there in thirty seconds" and HE WAS. Lido is a great location, especially for the Biennale, and a perfect spot to take a step outside of the St Marks hustle and bustle. Any questions you have, Alessandro will give you an honest and practical answer. Definitely recommend Villa Casanova--hope to go back someday soon.

“Perfecto!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

If you want to really see Venice, you should step back a little and go to Lido for your stay. And when you're there, take a 5 minute walk from the waterbus stop to Villa Casanova. What to expect there:
- the most friendly, cheerful, attentive and full of cooking talents host Alessandro
- extremely quiet nights
- very clean everything
- free wi-fi with excellent quality (we appreciated this treasure after few hours in Venice)
- everything functioning properly (air conditioning, lights, bathroom stuff...)
- bikes to ride (free of charge)
- and something else I've forgotten, but it's definitely good too.

Overall this is a wonderful place to stay. We were delighted and wish you the same.

P.S.: getting there from Marco Polo airport is easy-peasy. Just book a ticket on Alilaguna Blue lines online, pick it up at the airport when you arrive, and the boat will take you right to Lido (approx. 50 minutes ride).
P.P.S.: there's a supermarket in the same 5-minute-walk distance (8AM - 8PM) + ice-cream is cheaper AND more delicious on Lido. Oh lemon ice-cream, I'll miss ya.

“A Jewel on Lido in Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

Villa Casanova and our host Alassandro made our stay in Venice a wonderful experience. This Inn on Lido was a great find it was away from all the hustle and bustle of the main Island but just a short vaporetto ride to the main square. A 5 minute walk from the Lido stop to Villa Casanova. Sit by the canal in Lido just 2 minutes walk from Villa Casanova enjoy a glass of APEROL while your washing is done at the laundret. Village dining by the canal was wonderful. Alassandro said just treat our house as your home. Breakfasts were a treat sit in the garden and enjoy. I highly recommend Villa Casanova.
