“Good but could be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2010

My husband and I chose this hotel because the price was fine and the location was good. We highly appreciated the calm and peaceful atmosphere of this hotel. The island of Lido itself is also great, with nice beaches and everything else you need to enjoy your vacation.
Just a minor disappointment - breakfasts were so poor.. The choice is very limited compared to most other hotels. The coffee was bad and what was supposed to be boiling water for tea was just slightly warm. Cleaning services need to be improved as well. But in general, if you're planning a cost-effective vacation and the hotel is only for a few hours of sleep, that's what you can choose. The staff is helpful and quite friendly.

“We would stay in Villa Cipro again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2009

Thanks to the excellent waterbus service (is 33 euros of unlimited travel for 72 hours around Venice and the islands really expensive (and it even includes the bus service to and from the airport.)..?? we think not)... the Lido is THE place to stay (with the added advantage in the summer months of good sea bathing); Villa Cipro is well placed between the main shops and waterbus station and the beach, just a few minutes walk to both. Our room had two balconiesand was plenty big enough with mini fridge, a good bathroom and constant hot water. The breakfast was very good - an unlimited buffet...next time we shall be going by car to Venice so we can take the dog who can stay at Villa Cipro as well. In short due to the many awful reiews of Venice hotels we went with low expectations but Villa Cipro proved to be a great exception. One last thing. nothing to do with the hotel,...as usual lazy italian cooking, pasta or pizza, was very disappointing and pricey.

“Ok hotel, but beware the water bus costs.”

The hotel was fine. Easy to get to from the water bus station. Good sized rooms with bathroom. No shower curtain for the shower so be careful of your stuff getting wet.
They provide complimentary breakfast however its not really that nice.
The island of Lido where this hotel is located is very nice. Its quiet and has some great little places to eat. The only real downside was the cost of the water bus which was around 6 euro per person per trip which bumped the cost of the hotel up a bit.

“Friendly three star service, careful with the water trabsport costs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2009

This is a friendly hotel in the middle of Lido di Venezia just off the main street. It's very well located between the water taxi (vaporetto) stop and the beach and everything is close by. The rooms are small and we thought it quite expensive (the most expensive of the four hotels we stayed at in Italy despite the lowest star rating), though there was a good breakfast provided. We were three in a room with our 10 year old and it was very 'compact'. The staff spoke English but weren't especially helpful (eg there was no possiiblity of helping us with the cases up the stairs to reception). Nevertheless on balance I'd recommend it. One thing you do have to consider if you're using this as a base for main Venice is that the vaporettos on and off the Island cost 18 euros a day or 6.50 euros per journey. If you have three in your party this add up to a lot of money, possibly more than not staying on Lido.

“Great choice for Venice travelers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 June 2009

If you are traveling to Venice, the best you can do is to stay in Lido to avoid the noice and crowds. This hotel is perfectly located in a quiet and beautiful area just about 2 blocks from the Vaporetto stop. In about 10 min or less you are in the heart of Venice, so this is a great option. The hotel Villa Cipro is very clean and the rooms are spacious. Every morning we opened our window and could feel the breeze and tranquility of Lido. They have this quiet garden juts outside where you can sit down and enjoy your morning coffee. The staff was very friendly and breakfast was good (however, don't expect coffee to be good!). You can also walk a few blocks and you are right on the beach (what a pleasant surprise!). If you are going to Venice, stay in Lido because is much more affordable but overall is away from hectic Venice. I will highly recommend this hotel.
