“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2009

hotel was awesome!!
it was like an apartment. 2 rooms, a toilet, dining area, and a small kitchen. even a washing machine!
the stay was great. it was clean. to get to the hotel, we had to take a bus boat there. it was quite easy find the hotel. i would go there again, although the hotel is a bit pricey

“Lovely room, unforgettable Holiday!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

Ca´Valeri was e real surprise for me. With the price of a Bed and Breakfast, we get a beautiful Suite with Jacuzzi, a very well furnished stily room.
As we have booked for a romantic weekend, the reception let us find a cold prosecco in the room, a nice present.
The wheather in October was also amazing, so to go around Venice with the sun gave us a spring feeling, very nice.
The standard breakfast is not so rich, but we could ask every mornig for capuccino, fresh croissant, yoghurt and cereals, and the service broght us directly in the room with no charge.
If we will came again in Venice, we will go back again to Ca´Valeri, maybe in the room with the terrace.( at that time was already booked).

“Decent little hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2008

Hotel has a great location, but is a bit hard to find in the middle of the night (as we arrived at about 1am due to flight delays). Luckily they had someone waiting up for us to check us into our jacuzzi room. The room was clean and spacious, but a bit dark. The bathroom was very new and also clean and spacious. Our only gripes were that the bed pillows were terrible and that on the two times we tried to have showers/baths, there was no hot water. We also had a bit of difficulty with the a/c in the rooms. They had tried to turn on the water heating for us, but by the hour it took to heat up, we had already hit the sights of Venice.

The breakfast is laid out for you the night before and indeed does consist of packeted pastries and biscuits and instant coffee sachets. The manager said we could request fresh, but we weren't sure how to go about doing this. We weren't too concerned over breakfast as we were still full from the night before's dinner!

The front desk man was very helpful and friendly and could speak english pretty well. Our friends were staying there as well and had a jacuzzi room on the first night and then moved to a deluxe room (with a normal bathroom) for the second night. This second room was actually a lot nicer (and bigger) in our opinion than the first, and at a cheaper price! So not sure the jacuzzi room was worth it as we never had enough hot water anyway.

Hotel is good value for money, as most hotels in Venice are very expensive! Great location in a quiet part just far enough away from the tourist madness.

“Good location, good price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2008

Stayed in room #1 ,the only room on the main floor and right across from the reception desk. There was no noise at all as there is a double door separating the room from the lobby. We paid 297 euros for 4 nights with a special buy 3 nights and get the 4th free. The room was very clean with two twin beds pushed together and a tacky yet cool murano glass chandelier hanging over the bed. There were two high windows that did not let in alot of light because of being on the lower floor and the buildings are so close together. But that did not matter, it was great for sleeping. The decor was pretty typical Italian style. The bathroom was fairly small and the toilet in an odd spot so you had to duck your knees under the sink but we managed fine. Breakfast is included with the room rate. Basically it is just packaged pastry, cookies and biscuits along with coffee, tea, cappucino and juice boxes. There is a kettle to boil water in the room. We bought some yogurt and fruit to go with it and it was all we needed to get us started and out into Venice for the real food! The room was cleaned daily, there was a mini fridge and air conditioning (great during the heat wave) but no safe. The couple things that I would have liked to be different were that the front desk person did not speak English at all when we arrived and after that we rarely saw anyone at the front desk. Apparently it is only manned during the day but even then we never saw anyone to ask questions and we ended up paying our bill in advance as we were worried that when the time came to leave there would be no one around. We left a note on the desk to get their attention. The key to the front door and our room was on a gigantic metal thing and it was so heavy we finally took the keys off and left it in the room. The best thing about it was the location. Just far enough from the madding crowds but only 10 minutes max walk to San Marco. Lots of good little restaurants close by as well as the Arsenale vaporetto. The hotel's directions were just fine and we found it without much problem, though keep in mind it is on a little dead end street and you must check for the hotel sign on the wall next to the iron grill door. If you want a clean, comfy bed to sleep in and a good location and don't want to pay alot then this could be the place for you. I would stay here again when on a budget conscious holiday. FYI: there did not appear to be an elevator. Their guest book had good reviews written in though a few comments about the hot water running out. Too many showering at the same time? We did experience that once over 4 days. Just waited a bit and tried again and it was fine.

“Fantastic place!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2008

This was a fantastic find for us in Venice. I booked directly through the hotels website and the room prices were reasonable. We opted for a delux which had a jacuzzi bath - just what we needed after each day of sightseeing!

All of the rooms have recently been renovated and I must say that our rooms (we were a party of six) were both clean and comfortable.

I must also recommend a transfer company - www.shuttledirect.com. We organised a transfer from Venice treviso for our party and the service was fantastic. I had been a bit worried about finding the right water taxi line for our hotel once arriving at Piazzale Roma but you can book both the mini bus and water taxi through Shuttle Direct. The driver was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport, then led us to our waiting water taxi and then someone from our hotel was waiting for us at the other end to walk us to the hotel. - Absolutely fantastic service. The return journey was just as straight forward.

The hotel is in a good location - about 6 minutes walk from St Marks square and there are lots of lovely restaurants in the immediate vicinity of varying budgets. The desk clerk recommended many restaurants to try and places of interest which was really helpful.

I would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
