“Brilliant! In the heart of residential Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I arrived on the 11th November 2011 for my birthday weekend. I was staying 2 nights. It took us a long time to find as Venice is very tricky with its back streets and confusing postal street system but when I eventually arrived. (Do your knowledge of the streets before you go) I was not disappointed. I met the owner and he advised me would I be ok with an apartment situated just round the corner. In the back of my head I was thinking hmmm?! I arrived at my apartment and my jaw dropped. Situated in a tiny back street I felt I was in true Venice and living with the locals in which I was. It was clean, rustic and the best thing was on Sunday morning I would open my windows and here church bells ringing. I would recommend this to a friend. The owner was very friendly and spoke good English. I have fallen in Love with Venice and will return. Don't let the off the tourist track put you off as we were more adventurous and got lost but you won't care because every corner you turn you find something even more beautiful. It's about 10 - 15 minute walk from St Marks Square.

“Great!”

Something happened to our online booking but when we finally arrived at 11.30pm in Venice, found the place (it is hidden a liitle away) we rung the aft hours number, and was met, on the other end by a lovely friendly English speaking man, very apologetic, who had found us another room for the night. To apologize, when we arrived the next day, he had upgraded us to the junior suite complete with jacuzzi! Such a nice touch and something that we were so appreciative of.

The man on the front desk was soooooooooo friendly. Nothing too much trouble. The room was lovely, spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The location is quiet and fantastically close to everything. The only down side to our stay was the breakfast buthey, grab a panini or something when you're out because for the money we paid (even with the upgrade) it was great value and a welcome difference from the rip-off hotel we stayed in in Rome.

We returned to also have our room spotlessly cleaned.

Would recommend this 100%.

“Worth considering as the location is really good !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 April 2011

The Ca Valeri should really be considered as a bed and breakfast and not a hotel, this way you won,t be disappointed. It is ideally situated especially if you come in via water bus from Marco Polo airport as it,s one of the first drop offs and is only 5 minutes walk from ARSENALE point.
You are only 5 mins walk to San Marco Square, the walk is even more spectacular if you stay off the sea front and miander through the back streets over all of the bridges. The Ca Valerie is small with only 4-5 rooms that seem to be kept very clean.
The breakfast is really only a token gesture of packet croissants and coffee so don,t rely on this for a good feed !
Our room was a bit dark but as all of the streets are very close together in Venice so unless you pay top dollar I imagine that most are ??. There is not a 24 hour reception so if you arrive late evening take a phone as you need to ring the owners, who were really nice. We had a room with a jaccuzzi which made up for the "no coffee/tea faciities in the room.
Venice is notoriously expensive so we took a couple of bottles of wine and some spirit with us which definately helped !
If you get the chance a walk to the East of the city along the front takes you away from the throng of tourists for a while into park areas here lots of Venetians live.
One more tip ! we found a mini mart which was reasonable especially for local beers. Turn right at the end of the alley, then left towards the little square, turn right and its about 50 metres along on the right ! Worth it if your on a budget !.....
Finally follow the owners directions closely as there is no real frontage to the hotel and it really is down an alley way but don,t be put off by that.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2009

hotel was awesome!!
it was like an apartment. 2 rooms, a toilet, dining area, and a small kitchen. even a washing machine!
the stay was great. it was clean. to get to the hotel, we had to take a bus boat there. it was quite easy find the hotel. i would go there again, although the hotel is a bit pricey

“Lovely room, unforgettable Holiday!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

Ca´Valeri was e real surprise for me. With the price of a Bed and Breakfast, we get a beautiful Suite with Jacuzzi, a very well furnished stily room.
As we have booked for a romantic weekend, the reception let us find a cold prosecco in the room, a nice present.
The wheather in October was also amazing, so to go around Venice with the sun gave us a spring feeling, very nice.
The standard breakfast is not so rich, but we could ask every mornig for capuccino, fresh croissant, yoghurt and cereals, and the service broght us directly in the room with no charge.
If we will came again in Venice, we will go back again to Ca´Valeri, maybe in the room with the terrace.( at that time was already booked).
