The location of this hotel is great. Close enough to PIazza San Marco and all the action, but tucked away in a private courtyard. The staff were lovely and friendly and were more than happy to help with recommendations for restaurants and anything Venice-related. The breakfast that was included was a generous spread and very delicious. We were there in July and with the heat and hordes of tourists, it was quiet and calm sanctuary for us to come back to after sightseeing to recharge our batteries.

My family and I have now stayed in Locanda Orseolo on numerous trips to Venice, a city that we love to visit. Each time we are reminded of just how great this hotel is and how terrrific the people are. There is really no where else that we would choose to stay in Venice. The location is very central, the hotel is absolutely spotless and the staff have really become good friends. I would highly recommend Locanda Orseolo to anyone travelling to Venice.

Loved staying here with my 10 yr old daughter. Loved the rich decor, the friendly and interested staff who gave great advice and directions. Our room was by the canal, small but beautifully and luxuriously decorated. We liked hearing the muted sounds from outside, including gondolas gliding passed. Breakfast was delicious, if a little too late in starting for us (8am). This hotel is situated in a lovely square, that made us feel privy to an authentic part of Venice every time we pushed through the iron gate. But it's proximity to San Marco meant that we always found our way back.

we spent 5 nights - never been to venice or italy so don't know if the friendly staff is part of the italian thing - it's not like that in the restaurants - but this hotel all the staff really went out of their way to make it like a home and like we were out of town guests. wonderful. the only bad thing was we spent new year's eve there and it's so close to st mark's piazza that we couldn't get to sleep til 3. but the hotel is close to st mark's and that's a downside and an upside. it was wonderful walking through the crowds and then all of a sudden you're in a quiet little warm welcoming locanda. bravo.
