We chose this hotel partly from reading Tripadvisor reviews, and it lived up to our expectations. The location is probably unbeatable. To emerge from the hotel each morning to the heart-stopping beauty of the Grand Canal is an extraordinarily joyous experience: and, to be practical, it's a bonus that the vaporetto stop is only a few metres away. Our room was spacious and quiet, with the large marble bathroom and jacuzzi admired by other reviewers. It was all immaculately clean, and the maid service was irreproachable - unobtrusive and efficient. We too loved the front desk staff, helpful and friendly at all times. Breakfast we found pretty good by the standards of Italian hotels (where breakfast is often a perfunctory affair of bread, jam and coffee in pretty small quantities): this offered fair coffee and good espresso; lots of nice croissants and rolls; a reasonable if repetitive 'international breakfast' of scrambled egg, bacon and sausage.
