Room on the ground floor
Review of Locanda Armizo
1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 July 2014
In my experience this hotel is the worst one I have ever had. Thay gave us a horrible room on the ground floor. When we ask to give us an other room, thay said that we booked econom room (when we booked standard room). So they didn't resolved this situation, didn't satisfy our request to talk with hotel keeper (actually they do not have anyone on reception and all conversation we did by Skype) and finally suggested us to find an another hotel. So we didn't use that room and spended night in other place. Then, after 1 week I found out they took money from my account.
I'm really upset of this situation! Also our experience of Venice was loused up.

Good location, but the first night we stayed on their planks of rock was so bad that we couldnt get any sleep and had to return back to the room after an hour of heading out to try and sleep again and missed the whole day. Also requested a double bed but got 2 single beds put together with no proper bedding.

Never got any service apart from the lady who made the breakfasts and she was friendly but I felt really let down that all the other places reviewed here mention how their B&B owners recomend local restaurants or how to get to places easily and we got nothing.

When I came to the front door I had to call the number on my hotel printout (lucky i had it!) to get in as I couldnt hear what the quiet automated message was saying when i pressed the buzzer. Being greeted by Skype, I found it really awkard and the reception was bad so didnt even understand anything. Was a really cold welcome.

I wasnt the only person in that hotel who was angry as next door to me the family were telling me how they've already had many arguments that day with the owner (over skype of course). Complimentary toilettries were already opened from the previous visitors too so not a nice feeling.

All I can say is if you are deciding between this budget B&B and another, go for the other as Im pretty sure they will at least have someone at the desk and proper pillows!! (and a door that opens fully and doesnt get stuck because of uneven flooring!) Avoid this place!!! It was depressing thinking of even going back to the room every night! I wouldnt do it again I'd spend more to actually have an all round nice experience in Venice.

It's a struggle to think of anything I liked about this hotel to be honest. I suppose if I were forced to pick something I would say the general location in relation to the main attractions in Venice was good.

Lots of things were awful. Here are the top 3: 1) The hot water in our shower did not work. After the first night I informed the person who was serving breakfast and she said she would call a guy. The next morning nothing had changed, still no hot water. So I called the phone number on the website of the hotel and a different person answered, who then came to our room and looked at the shower. He said he would fix it, which he did for the next day. So 2 our of 3 mornings at the hotel we had no hot water. 2) The breakfast was pretty terrible. A piece of bread with some butter, a croissant with some jellies, and (bad) coffee. Silverware was also dirty. 3) The electricity went out in the hotel 2 out of the 3 mornings during our stay. It eventually was fixed both days but this was very inconvenient.

Anyone considering staying here... do yourself a favor and spend a bit more on something else. Really, anything else will do.

Room tip: Don't stay here.

We just stayed 3 nights. The beds were really hard and pillows were hard to.
The breakfast was okay. The old lady with glasses at reception was extremely rude the whole stay. Constantly rolling her eyes when I spoke to her. The so called cable tv only had one English channel which was mtv music.
They stay was okay.

This little B&B is very central. You can catch the waterbus number 2 from outside the station and it will take you directly to the hotel just past the Rialto Bridge. Rooms are pretty basic and typical venetian which will please some people. Bathroom was spacious but not as clean as it could be. Breakfast was served in your room which consisted of cold coffee, hard roll and cake. Staff were very friendly but they are not often about. I thought the picture on the booking site was not representative of the hotel, the main door was under a dark tunnel like lane (but I did feel safe). I would stay again because of the location and ffiendly staff.

1. skype check in, no stuff at the 6 room "hotel"
2. dirty toilet! i was not expecting new furniture or bathroom, it could be old but at least clean
3. the room itself was ok, quite comfortable, but not properly cleand.
4. only 1 guy showed up at the hotel, who was serving breakfast (the poorest i ever had in Italy) and "cleaning the rooms" and leaving after like noon. so if you ever had any questions, or would need extra smth, no one would be available.
5. the location was good! very close to Rialto bridge !
