Loved our stay at last year's carnevale. Great location,good breakfast and friendly staff. Would return.

I stayed at the Hotel Abbazia for the second time in January 2012. My first stay was in March 2011 and I enjoyed the hotel so much, I wanted to stay there again.
The front desk staff is incredible - always friendly, helpful and cheerful. E-mails are always answered promptly and completely.
One of the major advantages of this hotel is the location. Mere steps from the train station and just a short walk from the bus terminus where the airport express bus stops. You will appreciate how close it is to the train station if you have a lot of luggage. The vaporetto stops are located steps away from the hotel so traveling around the city, and to the outlying islands, is convenient.
Breakfast is filling and plentiful with meats, cheeses, fresh fruits, a variety of drinks and wonderful pastries.
I had a double room for single use and it was nice to have room to spread out. Housekeeping is excellent with towels changed daily. Lots of hot water and great water pressure in the shower.
I want to thank the staff for a great 2nd stay at the Hotel Abbazia.

Nice hotel with friendly staff lovely building inside dont be put off by front off building as there is only a door way plentiful continental breakfast close to station and water buses lovely and warm bar area with nice garden would recommend if i return to venice will stay here again my wife enjoyed her 50th birthday break at this hotel

This hotel was pleasant to me most for my last 10 day travel across Italy. It is very convenient to reach from station (any bridge on the way)) Probably that I reserved hotel as the user tripadvisor has been given me room of the best category is there was improved room though I reserved the standard. The room was big, pure, silent and convenient. The Internet a bit slow, but free. The bathroom was simple, but very pure and warm. Good means for a bathroom - gel, shampoo, a cream. I woke up in the morning under a sound of bells (I the inhabitant of a big city, therefore it is much more pleasant than to wake up from noise of cars)) and under a delightful smell of newly-baked rolls (it is possible, from a hotel bakery?) The breakfast was plentiful and it was possible to come 15 minutes prior to its termination and to be assured that it is enough meal. I felt in this hotel as at home. Employees were very lovely, always with a smile. A fine hall for rest where it is possible to spend time if you have already released a room, but still wait the train. A wonderful courtyard though in the winter unfortunately it was not possible to sit there. To us has very much carried with weather in this trip - all 2 days were a shining sun and the clear sky.
There is only one nuance which should be considered for this hotel - in hotel there is no lift and if you are limited in physical possibilities to you it will be difficult. Though the kind personnel helps with luggage.
