“A magical palace right on the waterfront”

My wife and I are travelling through Europe, we booked this hotel using Marriiott points. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay from 2 days to 5 days. The hotel and staff are full of old world charm. The building dates from the 1600s and was originally a palace, then a consulate and also a monastery. It has front and back entrances on adjacent canals and the public ferry service stop is close nearby. You can also walk across the bridges and go to St Mark's Square in about 20 minutes if you don't get lost, but getting lost is half of the fun in Venice where every small street brings more surprises. Although we were there in a time of record cold, the hotel was warm and comfortable, the decor and surroundings were amazing and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection was one of the best we have ever seen. We will definitely come back here ansd it has given us wonderful memories to keep forever.

Room Tip: If you can get a room overlooking the canal there is a great view.

Me and my wife have been traveling for 15 days thru Spain and Italy and we have stayed in all the hotels that have ties with Marriott due to our elite status but this particular hotel in Venice has been the worst experience we have had when we checked in we had a young gentleman very attentive but his inglish was very hard to understand our first room was so small there was barely room to walk out of the bed wen I went to take a shower the shower fell and hit my head well the changed our room after we had unpacked the other room did not have a shower that's something I usually won't check.they did not honor the rate I had on my reservation thru Marriott and also they did not honor the Spa discount that was in my room there was no way to reason with this people I WILL NEVER STAY IN THIS BRAND OF HOTEL THERE ATTITUDE WAS RUDE AND NOT ACOMODATING AT ALL ONLY FOR THEM **********BE CARFUL**********

“We <3'd Venice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We needed a holiday quickly so booked the night before 6 hours later we were at Manchester airport on our way to Venice for a few days. We loved it. Its a place to be seen, the atmosphere is fantastic no cars, its so calm and just what we needed as we were so stressed we just needed a break! We stayed at the Dei Dogi Boscolo Venezia, Autograph Collection. What can I say we had a room overlooking the front over the canal it was nice well apointed and comfortable bed. The staff were excellent we got delayed on the flight there and were stuck at Munich airport on the runway for 2.5 hours! So you could imagine when we got there we just wanted to get to the hotel, they had stopped serving food as it was late. However they were really accomodating they had the chef make us some room service we just asked for 2 tomato and mozarella salad, 2 spaghetti, a bottle of water and a bottle of the house white the total was 120 something euros!!! we were shocked until we went into Venice the next day and everything is overpriced! I tell you what though that was the best meal we had whilest we were there the food was spot on even though expensive, to this day I haven't had a better spaghetti. The hotel was nicely located away from the hustle and bustle of the grand canal. It can get very noisey staying on the grand canal. Everything in Venice is in walking distance we should know as my partner dropped our map and we couldn't find our way back to the hotel and walked the entire way across venice! We used the water bus alot its really easy and a cheap way to get around we just bought a 5 day pass. If you want to take a water taxi you pay a flat 100 euro fare. We got a private boat trip to murano glass from the hotel and shown around. Was worth it although its very expensive. We bought a large brandy goblet which costs about 150 euros and is beautiful I have all my glass and tableware to match it now. We went into the Biblica San Marco, what a building it is truely amazing! As you walk around venice stop in the Churches the architecture and detail is amazing and you can go in most of them. We spent alot of time just walking around admiring the scenery so make sure you pack your walking shoes as I forgot my trainers and had to pay 130 euros for some as all I had were my UGG boots and my feet were soaked when it rained and its also very slippy! Like I said everything is expensive so you really have to watch your wallet and make sure you don't over order at dinner. Pick back street restaurants, you will be charged a fortune around the San Marco square 15 euros for a coke kind of thing. When we left Murano glass they gave us there private boat to take us where ever we wanted to go. We asked the driver to take us to a place he would go to eat and he took us to a Seafood place nearby which from outside looked nothing but was really good food and really good price!

All in all a fantastic place if you just want to go away with nothing in particular in mind but to stroll around and look at the scenery and see the sights. Pack your comfortable shoes, eat in back street restaraunts to avoid paying ridiculous prices and to be frank not very good food in the main tourist spots. Ask locals if your not sure we do that anywhere we go and always works out well. Avoid later in the season when it rains alot as it floods, we were very lucky and it flooded the day after we left. Places we say to visit are Biblica San Marco and Murano Glass.

This hotel is a good hotel friendly staff, well apointed rooms, clean, we got a very reasonable price with the late booking out of season, food was excellent but pricey. You would not be disappointed unless you want to be on the grand canal, its only a couple of minutes walk to the grand canal for those of you who don't care. This is not a place to take children so is the perfect adult getaway which is what we always look for when travelling. Oh and we didnt take a gondala ride because the weather wasn't great and it was overpriced and to be honest doesn't bother me that we didn't.

“Amazing Hotel - Staff - and City”

We were in Venice for a few day prior to a cruise - This hotel is in a residential area - quiet & beautiful with an unbelievable garden. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The room was spacious and warm - with beautiful murano glass. The bathroom was also luxurious. The staff was so welcoming and accomodating - what a magnificent place - it was a Palace. The included breakfast was perfect too...I can't say enough about how fantastic this hotel is. There is also a complimentary water taxi into town or you can tour Murano...Only Pros - No cons from me.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor and our room was perfect! Ask for a view of garden if possible.

“Amazing Location, Amazing Staff - Beautiful Gounds & Rooms”

Wow! As an American traveling anywhere in Europe - you don't expect a grand room - nice, clean and safe is usually what we get. This place blew us away. It's in a quiet residential area of Venice (away from the craziness - but close enough to get anywhere you need to go - they have a complimentary water taxi to Murano and grand canal / central part of town)
First thing upon arrival the staff was extraordinary - so kind and accomodating - helpful and informative. We were let into our room and were so impressed. The beautiful murano glass lighting, the size of the room, beautuiful marble bath and a large king bed - the walls looked as hand painted long ago - and the garden outside....such a tranquil and beautiful place. The included breakfast was artistically displayed, happily served and delicious. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you will not be disappointed. A beautiful beginning to a special trip. Thank you Boscolo Venezia, we will return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a garden view -
