“Hidden, quiet, lovely”

We stayed at La Chicca last fall when in Venice. Unlike many locations in Venice, this one is tucked away from the crowds, yet very close to Accademia. The property is small, but the rooms are very spacious and clean. Owners Sabrina and Massimo are delightful. The price is excellent for the high quality of this sweet property.

“Little gem in the heart of Venice”

My husband and I stayed at La Chicca in November 2011 and highly recommend this B&B. The room was very large with a comfortable bed, a sofa (at least a three seater), a wardrobe with a small fridge and a safe for valuables. There was a small wooden chair/bench with a compartment under the seat which was used to store extra blankets. There was also a small table which could be used as a desk and a TV with remote control. The room came with its own heater/air conditioning unit, but as it was November, we did not use the AC. The bathroom was large, sparkling clean and very modern. There was a heated towel rack which kept it nice and toasty.

The service was probably the best we have ever had in Italy. Massimo offered to meet us near the Accademia bridge when we first arrived. He also gave us recommendations on places to eat, which all turned out to be excellent. Breakfast was included and the “cornetti” were of a much higher quality than any we found at the local bars. Massimo told us that every morning he went out and got them fresh from a bakery. La Chicca is centrally located in a very quiet residential neighborhood and is about a 10-15 minute walk from St. Mark’s square.

Rooms were large, very clean. Breakfast was a delight every morning and the owners were more than accomodating. Make sure to explore Dusodoro - worth the walk around.

What more could you want from a B&B? Firstly, the booking process via email was very efficient and stress free. Sabrina was very accommodating about our delayed arrival and extremely welcoming. The location is perfect, nice quiet back street, easy to find and within walking distance of everything. The room was very large, immaculately clean and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was fine and a really useful part of the day because we got to grill the owners on where to eat etc. We only stayed a few days but were made to feel like friends and would love to return soon.

“Great place in a great City”

I've been to Venice on five prior occasions, probably my favorite City in Europe. On prior trips have stayed at some of the finest hotels (Bauer &Laconda Vivaldi) so this trip staying at a B & B (which I have never done before) was a concern. My concerns were unfounded. First the negatives. Sabrina's directions from the Valpereto stop to the B&B could have been clearer. If steps are an issue (you have to go over a small bridge and the rooms are one fight up) do go. In fact probably should not go to Venice as you really have to do steps everywhere. That said, La Chicca is in a wonderful location, less than five minutes from the Academia and the Academia bridge on a quiet street. The rooms are perfect, large, comfortable and clean. Our hosts, Sabrina & Massimo are helpful and wonderful. The breakfasts are fine. In general a wonderful experience which we will do again.
