Everything was perfect. This place was indefinable. It can be your home, your love. You can imagine your whole life after you stay there. Our grande canal view junior suit was amazing. We had a upgrade and again in here many special thanks for the Abbazia staff. My girlfriend and I fell in love with this city and hotel. Amazing bed, wonderful bathroom. Especially liquid soap unique ! Great location two min. to train station. Venice is so small. Therefore you can arrive about 20 min walking to san marco. You should really stay here, you will not regret.
THis hotel is across the street from the train station, so very convenient if coming by rail. Down what looks like an 8 foot wide alley, so easy to miss the first time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and very clean. The breakfast room was elegant and the breakfast was very complete, with breads, meat, cheese, eggs, cereal, yogurt. The hotel used to be an abbey, and the old dining hall is now an attractive bar/lounge. The vaparetto (boat/bus) stop is right there and the mooring for boat pickup to the airport is very close also. Walking distance to most of Venice's attractions. The only possible drawback is there is no elevator, but the building is only 3 floors, so it wasn't a problem for us.Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Everything perfect, staff can't do enough to help, rooms traditionally beautiful, great location near city centre and transport links, don't k ow what they could do to improve it.
Front of house staff gave us perfect dining recommendation for this evening - it was a picture perfect meal.....
This is a gorgeous hotel hidden behind a door down a little laneway just off the grand canal. We were upgraded upon arrival to one of the two rooms directly facing the grand canal. This room was wonderful with the best views in the world that I could ever imagine. It is worth paying extra for these rooms, don't even hesitate. You will never forget the views they will be imprinted in your memory forever. The room itself was beautifully decorated with very high ceilings and big exposed beams with fantastic lighting. The bathroom was good too with a long walk in shower that had double shower heads for two people. Excellent!
We only had 2 nights but oh my god it was magnifcent and we were never so sad to leave. I am coming back again.
The staff were wonderful, Fransesca must get a special mention as being the most friendly, wonderful, helpful person we have ever come across in all our extensive travels. A beautiful person inside and out.
The location is the best in Venice especially if you come by train. Exit the station and it is less than a two minute walk. Flat, no steps or bridges to cross like most other hotels that we witnessed people having to navigate. We are in our sixties and had no problems with all our luggage which was something we were worried about it. But we need not have worried one little bit.
Also the vaporetta stop is right out the front of the hotel on the grand canal. Perfect!
Do venture out of the tourist areas to discover much nicer restaurants to eat at (also cheaper) and to discover all the little back streets and authentic areas of Venice. We were initially worrie about getting lost but this turned out to be the greatest highlight of our stay and we recommend it to everyone to try. ( Franscesca gave us this great tip).
Our rating is 10/10 for this hotel because of the beautiful rooms, the views, the best staff and the unbeatable location!
