arrived late friday night 12th march was met at reception by kamal, top bloke he carried our case up 4 flights of stairs to the october room on the top floor, nice room plenty of character with wooden beams floor to ceiling and on the ceiling, flat screen tv and nice i-pod player. he got us a late reservation at a nice restaurant around the corner called rosa rossa good food very resonable price. the hotel is in an excellent location 2 minute walk to the vaporetto (water bus) stop, the water bus from piazalle roma is 13 stops about 35-40 minutes away and cost 13 euros for 2 people the express bus from piazalle roma to marco polo airport and visa versa takes about 20 minutes and costs 3 euros each, tickets for both can be bought at arrivals in the airport for going into venice and st marks square ticket office for the return journey. st marks square is a 5 minute walk the rialto bridge and market is about 15 minutes away. it was my birthday on the saturday and we were out till about midnight within 5 minutes of getting back into the room kamal appeared with a bottle of champagne strawberrys nibles and flowers complements of the hotel very nice. the staff were all excellent and really went out of their way to point you in the right direction and make sure you had a first class stay but i hope the owners realise what a star they have in kamal because he could teach the concierges in some of the best 5 stars hotels around the world a lesson in how to treat guests..............

Small but perfect! We’ve just returned from a 3 night break in Venice, and we’re lucky enough to stay at the AD Place. We arrived a little early and our room wasn’t quite ready, so we dropped off our bags and headed for a local restaurant, which was recommended by the check-in staff…..after a fantastic lunch of local seafood and wine we staggered back to the AD Place looking forward to an afternoon snooze. We were whisked up to our “room” to find we’d been upgrade to a sumptuous suite, laic velvet and glass chandlers, roll top bath, huge lounge, 2 flat screen TV’s, Playstation, iPod dock, 2 fully stocked fridges, coffee on tap and a four poster bed – we never wanted to leave.

The staff we helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly, and we were of course treated by Kamal on our first night to a cold bottle of champagne and nibbles. Allesandro the manager was so helpful (and not bad on the eye!) and made us feel so welcome. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel; we’ll definitely be going back!

Having checked the reviews on Trip Advisor I had high expectations - however these were exceeded on every level.

The hotel is beautiful, the colours, the decor ,the styling all wonderful, luxury/ modern/ traditional comfortable and glamourous all at the same time!

Location wise it's divine; directly behind the Opera House with a canal directly in front of the hotel- We seemed to be very well placed for all the key sight seeing locations and the best restaurants and shopping.

It's no wonder so many people mention the staff - even before we arrived they were offering 5 star service recommending, then booking restaurants for us, then on arrival helping with directions, advice on travel, booking taxis not to mention the complimentary 'night caps' and snacks and fresh roses from the house keeping team.

This is the first time i've written on Trip advisor - but the staff earnt every compliment - so thanks to Alessandro, Tanja , Beatrice and of course Kamal - the best night manager we've ever experianced.

This place was too good to be true! It's a new hotel and there were no reviews for Ad Place so I was taking a big risk when I booked. I almost wish I were not writing this since I want this place to be kept a secret.

The decor is modern Venetian and I loved it! We went to Venice for the Venice Carnival and attended Il Ballo Del Doge so we planned to be in a good location. This place was perfect! 4 minute walk from St Mark's Square and the Grand Canal, plus it is located away from the main walkways and crowds. In fact there were no crowds or people ever around the hotel even at the peak time of the carnival! It is located next to a small canal with a pretty bridge. My room was HUGE although I got a suite for a good deal! I booked and paid 5 months in advance and was able to get a discount as a result. The hotel is very small and quaint making it easy to enter and leave. It is an old Venetian palace and due to its heritage and design there is no elevator but the 2 flights of stairs to the room is not a problem.

There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are many good places nearby that the staff is happy to recommend. Breakfast is a basic continental breakfast but good, and you can squeeze the fresh blood orange juice yourself! Another nice touch is that every evening there are delicious gourmet chocolates and glasses of champagne left in reception for guests to take up to their rooms.

Staff provided excellent service always even during the night and were very efficient with booking taxis and restaurant reservations for us.

The bed sheets and pillows are 5 star hotel quality!! I had one of the best sleep experiences ever!

I hurt my foot walking around Venice and needed some medication. I asked the staff for the nearest pharmacy and instead they gave me a whole bag of first aid goods to use and told me to keep it!

I had a package that was due to arrive while I was staying there but it arrived two days after I left. The staff were kind enough to have it sent to my home address and did not even charge me for the postage. They simply said it was a pleasure to have us as guests. Now I want to return to Venice not just to see the city but for the hotel and staff experience at Ad Place.
