“Chalet hospitality @ 3 star price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I returned from the Dei Camosci on 29th Jan after a fabulous week staying here.

My room was a single, it was small but was very well equipped. The bed was very cumfy, always very cosy and had a fabulous view to the rear of the hotel of the mountains. There is a TV but only a couple of English channels but I wasn't there to watch telly. The batroom had a shower which always had hot water and was equipped with a hairdryer, clean towels whenever you wanted.

The food in the hotel was very good and very big portions, either 3 or 4 courses with at least 3 choices for each. My friends were staying in another hotel on Bed and Breakfast and they came and ate at the Camosci several times and the cost was 25 euros each, much cheaper than eating 3 courses in resort.

The hotel bar was very cosy and welcoming, most of the residents were with Crystal and we enjoyed chatting about our days over a few drinks in the evenings. The bars in resort were very quiet during the week and we found that our bar was better, probably because it was out of town a it we were all happy to stay in the cosy bar and chat.

The hotel is 15 mins walk to the resort center but it is an easy, wel lit road. The hotel mini bus was a great help, it takes you to Dolonne Gondola @ 8.30, 9.00, 9.30 and 10.00am and picks you up @ 3.30, 4.00.4.30 and 5.00pm but if you phone the hotel they will pick you up if you finish early or need picked up from the bus station as we did when we went to La Thuile for the day (recommended as it is a larger area and there is a free bus and all included on your lift pass). The bus was very useful (as my friend who stayed in a different hotel hurt her knee on the first day of out trip) I would come back to the hotel after skiing and get a quick shower then get on the bus and the driver would drop me off at her hotel, he was also kind enough to pick up and drop off my friend when she wanted to came to my hotel.

The staff are very helpfull, nothing is too much trouble, I would definately stay here again.

“Lovely place, feels cosy and homely plus superb food !”

just returned from a week skiing with girlfriend on 29th Jan. Although only a 3 star, the warmth of the staff and the homely atmosphere, coupled with the superb food made this better than most 4 or 5 star places I have stayed. Our room was basic but very clean and warm. My only real gripe was our window was a small one about 7 feet off the ground so or view was rubbish but this was a minor issue really and was due to the fact we were positioned above a canopy which restricted the chance for a proper window. The newer part of the hotel seems more spacious than the original part we stayed in. The staff were great and were very friendly. Our room was cleaned daily and the bed was comfy and the showers were always hot. The food was fantastic and made a mockery of he 3* rating. Most of the hotels in the resort are about 5 or 10 minutes away from the main gondola to the slopes but most also offer a complimentary mini-bus service to and from the gondola as did Luigi from Dei Camosci, and it was excellent and really convenient. Would definitely stay here again but would like to have the newer rooms if I had the choice. The walk into the town centre is about 10 - 15 minutes and great to walk off your 3 course meal ! The reviews on Trip Advisor were a big factor in our decision to stay here and they were very accurate and helpful. You won't be disappointed here

“Great Hotel, Great Week!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Just had a week Snowboarding and stayed here. Hotel is lovely, staff are very helpfull, rooms were warm clean and basic, Shower was modern and hot!... take a travel kettle as 3 euros for a tea is not my bag! 3 or 4 courses in the evening, all lovely and very filling basic Italian food. no social scene in the hotel other than winding down with the other residents.15mins walk into town then another 5 to the other side if you need to. A couple of nice bars but no real nightlife and certainly no 2 for 1 offers! The mini bus is great and much required as the walk to the gondola would be horrific.

Slopes were blessed with loads of snow and would suit intermediates best, only a couple of blues to "relax" on. Plenty of trees to play between and serious off piste if your brave enough. Not a big resort and a number of the mile eaters also did La Thuile and Pila in the week.

Would certainly go back if the price was right.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front and side will have better views on M Blanco

“Highly recommend”

Just returned from a week’s Snowboarding with friends and stayed at the Dei Camosci.
The hotel is situated about 10 mins walk from the centre of town. In the morning and at the end of the day “Ives” will drop you off and pick you up in the hotel minibus, you can usually get a lift to town in the early evening.
The Hotel is clean and comfortable with decent sized rooms and friendly service + Free WI-FI, and an ample boot room
Food at the hotel is of a very good quality with 3 or 4 course meals being served daily, the menu is available at the breakfast table to place your order for the evening.
If you turn right outside the hotel there is a supermarket 200yds up the road should you need it.
Snowboarding:- the area is mainly suited to intermediate or advance boarders as there are very few learner areas, however La Thuile is a 30min free bus ride away and is quite a flat resort which learners would be more suited to.
I would also recommend going to Pila for a day as they have some amazing 5+KM runs from the top to the bottom
Courmayeur itself is a small Alpine type village with a few bars and restaurants, Prices range from 5 euro ( American Bar) to 10 euro (J Set) for a beer, American bar is the busiest bar in the town and shows Football on Sky.
I would 100% stay here again

I had the immense pleasure to stay for just one night at this very good hotel, immersed in the spectacular landcape of Courmayeur, at the base of the biggest mountains of the italian border. We had a great time! Comfortable heated rooms with spacious comfortable beds. Very good cleanliness. Abundant continental breakfast. Free WiFi signal available everywhere in the hotel. Free shuttle service to the center of Courmayeur. An experience to be certainly repeated.
