We chose this hotel to be conveniently positioned for a few days' stay to go out-and-about or into town (just 1 Euro on the bus with a stop outside the hotel). Take one day's drive out on the loop including Stelvio and Gavia passes, then another to the east on the Dolomite Road. Supermarket down the road for picnic ingredients.
Rooms were clean and quite adequate. Staff generally helpful and some had a bit of English (useful in an area where Italian and German are spoken).
Pleasant terrace and swimming pool. Free parking.
New cable car down the road that really enables you to get a different perspective.
We thought the railway line and motorway across the vineyards in the valley might disturb us, but they turned out to be just another interesting diversion.
Restaurant only adequate for dinner, but there are good ones in Bolzano.
