We were given a warm welcome by Monika and her husband in this quiet village outside of Asti. Our bedroom was warm and inviting on a cold day with a small bathroom which was fine for us. We were delighted we agreed to have dinner as it turned out to be the highlight of our short trip to the Langhe. Monika cooked up a storm with uncountable cold and hot antipasti as well as ravioli and veal slices cooked in hazelnut, white wine and spices. Included was a bottle of water and local delicious wine as well as dessert, coffee and grappa. It was just as well we were sleeping upstairs as we could barely move following this magnificent feast! Monika was a warm and welcoming host who gave us many useful bits of information and kept us amused with her funny stories. In short. A total delight.

This was our last stop before leaving Italy and I wished it were the first one. Monika is an amazing host who introduces you to all the insights in the Italian culture. She welcomed us and straight away sent us to visit local cultural sites, architecture. At the end of the day we were welcomed with an amazing dinner for a little extra charge. Her cooking is astonishing and the Italian cuisine that she provided is just out of an ordinary. I was stuffed with antipasti and I am a man who eats a lot...:)
At the moment of the stay Monika had some construction activities at her place, but none of the work was done during quiet hours. She also took care of parking and the rest, so we did not feel anything.
If you are interested in Italian cooking home style and the lady who doesn't stop speaking and teaching you all the necessary about the Italian culture then this is the place!

We stayed at La Valle for one night, after driving across the mountains from Switzerland, very convenient to have a stop here on your way further south. By GPS we found the place easily, the room was magnificent (it was the camera dei vini) and our car was parked right outside the room's side door, handy!

Vallendona is a tiny town, about ten minutes driving from Asti. Enjoy a quiet morning walk in Vallendona before going elsewhere..

We stayed here in May 2011. Arriving after crossing the Alps from France we were looking forward to our stay with the owner Monika. On arrival the greeting was enthusiastic and our room, one of two in a newly renovated annexe, was very impressive. Our room did not have a balcony.
Monika cooked dinner for us, and this was a good experience, although the 'dining room' in which it is served is not very atmospheric. We were charged 60 euro for the room & breakfast and 50 euro for dinner including a bottle of wine. This was reasonable for what we got.

We did not find the approach to the property, or garden area, attractive and the swimming pool was not erected while we were there.The owners are working to enhance the facilities and some building work is in progress to extend the number of rooms - this could be nice when its finished. Some facilities - like wifi - are currently only available in the main house.
Want an overnight stopover at a reasonable price with a reasonable dinner, then La Valle is OK, though we stayed at B&B's with more ambiance on our trip through France and Tuscany.
