“Ticks all the boxes”

We stayed in this hotel in June after friends recommended us. The hotel had just undergone a complete refurb which was all very tastefully done. The rooms were clean and comfortable with lovely views of the lake. All very romantic. The weather was a little off colour and mostly rained. However the hotel staff thought of everything and provided brollies with plastic carrier bags.

The restaurant was well organised and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake was very pleasant - just sit and watch the world go by.Nothing was too much trouble for the staff to make our stay a good one.

The location was ideal right by the main square and facing the ferry pick up.

The rooms were kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff.

The occassional duck would wander into the hotel foyer which was very amusing.

Tip for visitors to Sirmione - spend the day visiting the other villages on the lake as Sirmione is heaving during the day. Its just as good in the evening with not so many people.

Lovely Italian restaurant run by a family called La Girasole

Very romantic

“Gem of a hotel, right on the lake”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

We turned up at Sirmione mid-afternoon. At first we thought that to stay in the old part of town would be too expensive and the the first hotel we enquired at wanted over £300 per night B&B. However, we walked round the corner, stumbled upon the Eden and secured a lake facing room, with balcony, parking and breakfast for less than half that of the first hotel.

The hotel has recently been refurbished so, as you'd expect, the rooms were very clean. They were also very modern, which is surprising for Italy as most tend to be traditional.
There was free Wi-Fi in the room. If you didn't have a computer there is a terminal in reception, with a printer, for general use, which proved useful for printing out our boarding passes for our flights home the next day.

Free afternoon tea is served out on the decking/patio area by the lake.

There was plenty of choice for breakfast, which was very good.

The hotel can provide secure parking, for an extra charge, in a garage about 50 metres away, though be warned some of the spaces are very tight. They also have a sister hotel a few hundred metres away where you can park your car for free.

Sermione is a lovely town but is very busy during the day. It is much better in the evening once all the day visitors have gone. I will certainly visit this town again and will almost certainly stay at the Eden Hotel.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a Lake view and balcony!

“Refurbished - now even better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2011

Well, what a difference 18 months makes… We already loved this hotel when we stayed in May 2010 and now it’s even better following a total refurbishment – we got a very pleasant surprise when we arrived in September this year.
Same wonderful staff, location, lake view, breakfast and afternoon tea as before – but now with lovely fresh new décor!
We were in room 111 on the first floor, which overlooked the main piazza and ferry point. No balcony in this room but there’s a lovely lakeside terrace and sunbathing deck to relax on. Our room was quite spacious and had two nice comfy chairs, a large wardrobe with plenty of hangers, drawers, a safe and a mini-bar. The prices of the drinks in the mini-bar were reasonable: €2 for water, €3 for coke, orange juice and tonic water, €9 for half bottle Prosecco and €2 for the snacks (there was also beer in the fridge but no price on the list).
The bathroom was not particularly roomy but you could fit an average family in the super large shower. Toiletries provided: body wash, shampoo and soap. There was also a shower cap and 2 pairs of slippers. The shower was fantastic with excellent pressure.
The hotel has a laundry & ironing service: €4 for a shirt, €3 for shorts, €3.50 for skirt or trousers.
We slept well in the firm, comfortable bed. The only slight niggle was with the aircon. The weather was very hot during our stay and the aircon only just about coped – we had it on the coolest setting and at full power. Hubby’s side of the bed/room was cooler than ‘my’ side.
There is now free internet access/use of a laptop for guests in the reception area. If guests wish to use their own phone/laptop, you just need to get an access code from reception.
We enjoyed a complimentary welcome drink at the bar on our first evening and we also enjoyed the little Belgian chocolates left on our pillows each night.
Next time we stay there (and there will be a next time) we’ll make sure it’s for more than 4 nights – we didn’t want to leave!
