We originally booked a room in the guesthouse, however the owner called us and offered us the apartment, as the other two rooms in the guesthouse would be occupied by two quite large families - something that could cause a bit of noise. We were quite happy to stay in the apartment instead.

As our plane arrived very late, we were picked up from the airport and brought to the apartment and shown where to find the guesthouse for breakfast in the morning. The apartment is just down the street from the guesthouse itself and is quite large, with an open kitchen/lounge room, bathroom, bedroom and an open loft with an extra bed. Since the bedroom is facing the main street there are some noise at night, so if you're a light sleeper it might be a problem.

The owners were very friendly, and we had a lovely stay in the apartment and excellent breakfasts in the guesthouse.

Charming B&B with spacious, beautiful and romantic room in the middle of Bergamos old town, Città Alta. The owners were very helpful and made delicous breakfast. We are looking forward to next time in Bergamo and B&B Alba!

We just returned from an incredible vist to Italy. One of the more memorable stays was in Bergamo, at the B&B Alba Chiara. It's a quaint/charming Bed & Breakfast in the upper city. The room was spacious as we were traveling with our two adult children. The owners are a delightful couple, Pierangela and Alfonso. Pierangela speaks excellent English and was very helpful with any questions we had, while Alfonso creates the most beautiful and delicious Italian breakfasts. The B&B is right in the middle of town overlooking a main street, with shops all around. We took Pierangela's recommendations for good food, and were not disappointed. One excellent recommendation was Columbina's- a modest walk from our room- the food and service were outstanding. We ate on the patio overlooking the city lights of the lower city. We highly recommend B&B Alba, and will stay the next time we visit Bergamo.

We stayed at this B&B at the end of may, the second time this year, this time we brought our 9 year old daughter, she liked the room and loved the breakfast.

Owners very helpful and informative.
