“Stayed here before our wedding!”

We had a wonderful time at this B&B before we were due to get married in Bergamo at the end of June. The B&B is so central as others have said and you walk out the main door and you are steeped in the culture and old world charm that is Bergamo Alta. Sabrina could not have been more helpful to us as well as her lovely daughter and she helped a stressed bride with anything that we needed! We loved the room on the top floor (no lifts but lovely clean stairwells). The room was so pretty and had a comfortable double bed, small kitchen inside the room, bathroom and two patio doors overlooking the back garden. It was quiet and calm. The room didn't have the air conditioning working at that time as it was due to be hooked up, but the large fans we were given really helped. All in all, the rooms are all lovely (we saw the others) and the breakfast had everything you needed. She even offered us fried eggs and ham! On the day of our wedding she added decorations and bows to the front door as we were leaving. We will definitely be back. We also loved the Co operativa restaurant down the lane opposite the apartment and spend several cheap and cheerful evenings here in their large summer garden.

Room Tip: Top floor apartment is lovely and romantic for couples and it's quieter.

“Right in the centre!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

We stayed here for a couple of nights and were impressed to find we were right in the centre of the historic Citta Alta. The room was in the basement, so a little dark, but also very cool, which was welcome in the sweltering heat. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well-equipped. Breakfast, though half an hour late on the first day, was very good, including a surprising, for Italy, dish of scrambled eggs and bacon. To be recommended as a very convenient place from which to explore Bergamo.

“Spacious and stylish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2011

Stayed for one night with my family. We expected a room but got an whole apartment. Great location right on the main street in the upper town. Clean, roomy and really nice interior. It has a kitchen but you had to pay 10 euros for every day you wanted to use it. Not that pleasant. Anyway... The breakfast was awsome! Homemade style and everything came from local producers in the Bergamo Area. One nice lady made us bacon and eggs on order. A great B&B, that is more like an apartment with great breakfast. A bit pricy, but considering location and standars its worth it. Especially if you are a couple of adult friends sharing the cost.

“Nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2011

We( 2 adults and 3 kids) stayed at this B&B three nights together, 2 at first and 1 at the end of our holiday. Our apartment was very nice and comfortable. There were 2 bedrooms and a large living room with kitchen and a bathroom including a washing machine(great plus for family!). Everything was clean. One of the bedrooms have a quite hard bed, but the rest was ok. The best thing was the location. When you went out of the building, you were just middle of the old, charming town. Sabrina(the host) was very helpful and friendly and spoke quite good English(not very common in Italy). She also gave us good tips concerning good restaurants, possibility to swim etc. The breakfast was very nice. The only negative side was that because our early leaving last morning at 6 am, we could not have a proper breakfast. Sabrina made us breakfast bags, but there were only sweet cookies and bunnies and some juice. Anyway, very nice B&B middle of t6he old town.
