I've just come back from a four day, three night stay in Bergamo Italy. Stayed at the Fragolino Hostel on Via Bartolomeo Bono.
This is a small friendly hostel / hotel. With only three double private rooms. The rooms are large and well maintained, decoration and furniture very trendy and clean.
The owner 'Marta' is a lovely friendly and helpful lady, nothing is to much trouble for her. She gives out maps and advice about the city of Bergamo. She can arrange airprt pick up and drop off if you ask her.
Breakfast is more than adequate and available between 0530 and 1030am.
The hostel is about 7 minutes walk from the main train and bus station. But there is also a bus stop and tram stop just around the corner. Local shops and restaurants also just around the corner, if you don't want to travel the short distance to the citys main streets.
Bergamo is a lovely city and great base for visiting Milan and the Lakes.
I would recommend this hostel to couples.
Make sure you have a mobile phone with you as there is no reception at the hostel so on arrival you need to call the owner (who only lives around the corner) so she can come and let you in and issue you with front door keys and keys to your room.
