Stayed in Deluxe Junior Suite - consisted of large living area and separate bedroom with adequate bathroom also had very large balcony overlooking the beach and the bay - stunning views. Loved the dining room set up for breakfast (albeit at bit eclectic - but added to the charm) and the staff were very friendly. Loved selection of breakfast foods - much better than some of the 'American' breakfasts (as advertised) in other hotels. Great central location for exploring Cinque Terre and Portofino - would come back to the area and stay at this hotel in a heartbeat !!

Friendly staff. Junior Suite had too many stairs but the wonderful view from the small balcony will make you forget the stairs until you wake up at night to go down 4 stairs to reach the tiny bathroom. Bathroom size and furnishing not acceptable for a 4 Star hotel.

The location is a 10. Stayed at the Lido Palace for three nights and booked a room with a small balcony. The lady at the reception gave us a room with no balcony. We asked why and she then gave us a room with a French balcony which was not good enough for us. With that she charged us approximately 75 euros more for a small balcony which was dangerous..the railing was about 36 inches.. and drop was three stories. Regardless we were on vacation so we settled for the room however the room backed up to a late night club and loud mouthed people loitered until 3am. So we could not sleep and the night reception would not do anything to relocate us to another room. Also the bath was cracked and unlevel and too too small to get a balance while showering (you needed a pogo stick to leap into the tub) so I slipped. I believe that room cost us 275 euros for the night. The next morning the manager relocated to another room on the highest floor so we would not hear the noise of the city. The Lido advertises to be sound proof but it is not. The room worked out fine but we were ripped off for the first night.

Our hotel the lido palace on the outside is beautiful but the inside is horrible. Their are way too many steps in this hotel and our room. The only positive is our hotel has a beautiful view. Also they turn the air conditioning off at night.
