“Perfect for a short stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

We were here just for the night, and it was really the perfect choice. Our room had a little balcony and the bath was nice. Had a good nights sleep. We had a little issue with finding a parking place. Everywhere around the parking rates were exorbitant. So, if you want to be carefree with the parking arrangements, maybe you need to look for a cheap parking place around.

“Praise for staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Hotel Vittoria is really well placed for exploring Genoa, in the heart of the city and an easy walk to the port and old town. From a decor perspective the hotel is quite sad and needs an upgrade, but that said the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was basic but wholesome. My husband, Chris and I would like to heap praise on all the staff but expecially Paulo - he was so knowledgeable that it was like having our own personal guide, from which buses to get, to ways of making the 24hr travel card really work - a font of all knowledge and very wise in his reccomendations of what to do in the short time that we had there.

“Before booking a room ask yourself what your priorities are...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2011

So, what are your priorities?

A conveniently located hotel, with excellent customer service and great room hygiene? Then this hotel is for you. If you're one of those travellers who uses the hotel room just to take a shower and sleep at night, then go ahead and book a the room if you find a good offer.

Is the look of the rooms and of the premises as important to you as the city your visiting? Do you like modern furniture, beautifully lit environments, lounge music? Do you like beautiful views of the city your visiting? Is a rich fresh continental breakfast your top priority? Then look for a different hotel.

“Good hotel close to train station!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

We stayed at the hotel in January 2011 during our short Italian trip. It was my second visit of Genova so I was aware that it's vertical city)). The hotel is very close to train station and is situated up the hill. You can use stairs to go up and down or lift. Our room was rather comfortable and large enough for 2 adults. It takes about 20 min to reach the port.

“Nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

Good location, friendly staff, interior and cleanliness - all according to the standards and expectations. We didn't have time to figure out how to turn an air conditioner on. Perhaps, it could have been as simple as calling reception. Sleeping with open windows was challenging because of the street noise.

We liked the terrace next to reception. We used it as our meeting point. It's a good place to chill out in shadows. If you walk down the stairs to the street level, the eatery on the left could be a good choice for a quick snack or drink.

I've been always curious about the bigger entrance next door to the right. Don't miss it! A unique funicular will take you up the hill. You'll find that isolated part of the city quite amasing, with a palace to be seen, beautiful panoramic view of Genova and less-touristic prices in their local restaurants.
