My husband & I were refered from another hotel which was out of the city, we wanted to be more in the city. We had a safe in the hotel and didn't put our money in it till the second night. It was always locked. When we went to leave we got our money out and we ended up being short 500 Euros. We told the attendents, as we had to leave and catch a trian. They said they had video of the hallways, so we knew they would catch who did it. At first I wasn't positive how much we had spent, but I knew it wasn't that much, so we had wrote down what we spent. After we got to Venice with the help of our friends we went to the police and made a report. The girl at the hotel just said the maid had entered the room, well what does that tell you. Needless to say the management did nothing to recover our money. She acted like we made it up! We had to ask our friend in Venice to help us because of the lauguage barrier, thank goodness we had him. He kept calling the hotel for help with this, but they didn't care. We wouldn't have gone to the trouble of putting our friend thru this or spending most of the day walking to the police station and making the report. On the other hand there were to girls that worked there that were very nice and the breakfast was good. The male that worked there was very nasty to my husband on the phone. This was not a pleasure fr my husband and I as we were there to see where my Grandparents were born and spent part of there lives before coming to the US.
