In the heart of the oldest and most historic area of Trieste, Residence Sara features newly renovated apartments.
Located just 50 metres from Piazza Unità d'Italia and Trieste’s main promenade overlooking the sea, the residence lies just minutes away from all the major tourist attractions and shopping district. The Verdi Theatre, S.Giusto Castle, Roman Castle and Revoltella Museum are all within walking distance.
The apartments are set in 2 buildings, in via Cavazzeni and Via delle Mura, both constructed in the mid 1700s and recently restructured. The residence offers 12 apartments equipped with all the most modern comforts. This is what the hotel (apartment) writes about the location which is accurate. It is right in the heart of the centre.
For a small residence it was extremely overpriced (we paid the same in Venice for a nice hotel with breakfast). Rented 2 rooms - the room on the 3rd floor had many flaws (no heat for cooking, shower door broke off, no cookware). A decent apartment, but not a great deal. We booked through booking.com but the price dropped before we arrived and they did not honour the competive price.
The property management is at a internet office (which is free for guests) - very nice staff; they provide maps and information but unfortunately they were in such a hurry to enjoy their siesta they provided us all info in german. We found a information office across the square (make sure you know what you are looking for - they are good at giving you info but not good at giving you ideas). It was our second day in the late pm when we figured out their was a castle and promenade that was amazing. Take the tram into the plateaus - costs 1 euro - very neat. Unfortunately, most of Trieste and Europe has graffiti on all its landmarks - for a tourist destination they should try and tackle this problem.
The best part of the apartment is the location in the centre of a subdivision - right in the heart of the centre. Along with that comes noise including construction (re-building) all around you - noise resinates throughout - as long as you are an early riser you will have no problem with this.
