“Lovely hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

Lovely hotel and helpful friendly staff. However we were concerned about the number of young women who were flagging male drivers down at the garage across the road and then actually on the driveway approach to the hotel. We even saw a couple of ladies who appeared to be "working" in the lift and in the lobby. Not really a problem but we were a bit surprised as the hotel accepts families readily and several young children were staying at that time. Don't mean to sound offensive to these ladies in any way but just wondered if anyone else had encountered this whilst staying at the hotel!

“Could be anywhere in the world”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2010

Stayed here for 1 night on a business trip. The hotel seems to be on the edge of a dual carriageway, backed on to by a railway line, in the middle of an agricultural area. Apart from the hotel, there was nothing to do except admire the constant all day drilling and banging of the ongoing maintenance work.
A taxi into Parma was about 13 euros which is a necessity.
Service was good except that when I asked to borrow an iron for my shirt as I had a business dinner to attend, I was informed that the hotel didn't possess an iron and I had to ask housekeeping to do it. I was then informed that housekeeping had gone home for the weekend (at mid day on the Friday) so the answer was no! A world first for me!

“Great Stop Off Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

We found this hotel by chance when we were travelling through Italy. For us it was a bargain as we visited in August which was their quiet season as it was a business hotel. We had a good family room with huge bathroom. The pool wasn't large, but the kids loved it as it was quiet without the hundreds of tourists we had encountered in resorts.

Breakfast was standard for 4 star with plenty of choice. We did not use the restaurant so I can not comment on it.

In response to previous reviews, we found the grounds, whilst not inspiring, clean and well maintained.

The location is out of town and is only suitable if you have your own vehicle, it is in a good location if heading down the motorway and need a stop off for the night.

“Four star on the inside. No star on the outside.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2009

This hotel was rated a four star, and the online photos bore that out. However, when we drove up to the hotel, our spirits dropped dramatically. The entrance and the grounds of the hotel were not well maintained at all. Weeds, cigarette butts, bits of trash everywhere. I was considering canceling, and paying the cancellation charge. We went into the hotel and found a pretty decent 3 star place. Staff was nice and accomodating.
It was a warm day, and our group wanted to use the pool. Upon entering the pool area, we were again very surprised by the lack of attention to the grounds. The lawn was dying in spots, needed mowing and trimming. The bushes were all overgrown and needed pruning. The flower beds were full of leaves and debris. The pool itself was nice, but the grounds were embarrasingly unkempt.
The rooms were nice and clean and the bathrooms likewise.
I complained to the management about the care of the grounds, and the manager claimed that it was a money problem. However, I felt that the worst of the problems could have been solved fairly cheaply and easily. No excuse for the grounds being so poorly maintained.

Restaurant was nice, but way overpriced, and menu was limited. We went to a nearby family restaurant and had a fine dinner.

“not in town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2009

we stayed here thinking it was in the city but it wasnt. We had a car so that was fine & such a big hotel would not fit into the charecter of the main city. The hotel is more of a business style hotel & some of the staff wernt as helpful as they probably should be to tourists that have no idea about the ares. Hotel was clean.
