“Excellent B&B, Comfortable, Clean, Friendly and Great Location - Highly Recommended”

Stayed 1 night at La Piazzetta della Pioggia during a trip around Italy last month. I don not have one negative thng to say about this place - it is great! The building is lovely, stone floors and plenty of character. My room was very tastefully decorated, with a very modern slate tile bathroom and an excellent, very powerful shower! (great after an overnight train!). The bed was very comfortable and there was even a modern flatscreen TV in the room, unusual for B&Bs at this price level! The location of the hotel is perfect - only 5 mins walk from the main sqaure and centre of Bologna and 2 mins walk from the main shopping street. The owner may not on site 100% of the time, but this should not be a criticism - he is very easy to contact and has left a huge amount of information, leaflets, maps and even his top 10 suggestions for restarants in the lobby area. On top of this, the B&B is very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to friends and plan to return next year.

“Not really a B&B - Noisy, cramped, uncomfortable”

This is not really a B&B - just a 2nd floor collection of rooms. There is no resident staff and you have to be lucky to see them when you arrive or check out. One of the beds (thin mattress on slats) collapsed. The "breakfast" is a voucher for a couple of nearby places for coffee and a single roll. It is on a very very noisy square a few doors away from a university student hangout and they make a lot of noise in the street and even sing - usually after 1:00 am. Of course there is also the garbage collection and street sweepers to entertain you also at about 2:00 am. There were lots of noisy people in the place and the walls are quite thin. This place is only for the desperate.
