“Stay away”

We booked this through a last minute travel agency in the Termini station. When we went to inspect the room, the front desk person was extremely rude to me and my wife. They placed us in a room in the hotel next door. The bathroom was disgusting.... filled with mildew. PLEASE do not stay here. Trust me. A better option is "Pensione Paradise". I will post photos of the mildew on a separate post. When I mentioned the mildew problem to the front desk, they told me it looks fine and they did not see a problem. They said it was a plumbing problem?

I found the entrance to the hotel, completely inapropiate and durty for a 3th class hotel.
The hot water didn´t work, !how can this happen nowadays¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡. I couldn´t have a proper shower in the 3 days I stayed there.
The paper on the wall was falling down, wich gave the impresion of a very old room.
I forgot a mp3 player in the room, and I phoned the next day to recover it. The man in the recepcion said he couldn´t speak english!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IN A HOTEL IN ROME!!!!!!!
So at the end I couldn´t recover it.
If I had to go to rome againg this would be the last hotel to stay in. Thank you.
My name is jose antonio gonzalez, and my e-mail is jogocaar@hotmail.com if you want more information about the hotel, you can contact me.

“Not a good experience...”

We booked the Hotel Augustus over the internet and stayed for 8 nights. Our window in our room had jammed shut and would not open after the 2nd night we were there making our room very stuffy. We asked several staff members when this would be fixed but nothing was ever done. The air condition also didn't work, turning itself off after about 30 seconds. The towels smelled very strongly of vinegar and on more than one occassions clean towels weren't replaced after the maid had cleaned our room, just the old ones folded and put back. The carpets are very dirty. One day when we were wanting a late start, 2 memebers of staff at 2 different times knocked on our door wanting us to leave so the room could be made up... i found this quite rude and felt that i was being rushed out before i was ready.

In the mornings it was very noisey with someone constantly walking up and down the wooden corridor with high heel shoes on and on one morning we were woken up at 7am with very loud banging and drilling. The rooms next to ours was getting renovated but there seemed to be no respect for other guests that were sleeping at such an early time in the morning.

I would not stay there again or recommend anyone else to!

“not a luxury hotel...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2006

The hotel we stayed in was close enough to the main sights and places we wanted to go. However, if I went again I would not go back.
The room was clean enough, but the carpet had stains all over it.
The pictures are extremely mis-leading, the front actually looks awful-really run-down.
The staff were nice, but the rooms are very very close to reception, which I did not personally like as I felt it wasnt very private.
Breakfast was nice, and you can go there most times of the day.
There is a lift but I refused to use it as it looked like it would break any minute.
It was ok value for money, but Id advise anyone to spend a bit more and go somewhere else.

  • Liked — the towels were changed daily and the breakfast was oK!
  • Disliked — stains on the carpet and the close proximity to the reception from our room.
  • Tips/Secrets — dont go, spend a bit more and go somewhere nicer.

“Liars”

We booked this hotel via the internet. When we arrived we were told that due to plumbing problems there is no room for us and we were transfered to an alternetive hotel. We were also told that the problem will be fixed tomorow and we will be able to check into our room the next day. When we came back the next day we were told (by another person) that there no rooms available (probably they over booked) and that person did not know anything about a "plumbing problem". We were offered a very low level room.
I was not imprest with this and I do not like being lied to and I defently do not like when hotels overbook.
I so not recommend this hotel at all
