“Very genuine, friendly and welcoming!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We loved our 3-night stay here! Christine was very welcoming and we really liked our room (the end one). It was spacious and had an outdoor area (we didn’t use it though because it was Winter). Staying here comes with complimentary breakfast at the cafe downstairs (nothing too extravagent, pastry + coffee). I suggest getting a good map or instructions on how to get here, before you arrive in Rome. There are no signs, so we walked past the black door.

There were strikes on the first day we were here and the subway wasn’t operating. However, we managed to walk to places, and it was fine.

“Feel like home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

Everything was simply EXCELLENT, rooms are very big and VERY clean, the young owner Cristina was very nice. B&B is recently opened. FANTASTIC! Location is perfect, very close to the train station and you can reach the centre in 15 minutes walking! Great value, we surely comeback!...........................................................................................

“Bed and not-much-breakfast Relax in Rome”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2006

Calling this place a "bed and breakfast" is really stretching it. Not only was breakfast meagre, it was also late. If you wanted breakfast, you had to ask them and then sit around while they prepared it. I wouldn't go so far as to say "cook", as the only thing that didn't come directly from a packet was the coffee. There was only one hotplate, so you had to wait ages for the coffee, as they would have to make the coffee first and then heat up the milk. Also, the guy on duty wasn't up and ready with breakfast at 8am, he got up at about 8.15am and slowly started preparing it. The breakfast consists of tiny crispbread toasts from a plastic packet and jam or chocolate spread. That's it. I don't expect much, but some real fresh bread doesn't seem too much to ask. I don't know why they even bother to offer breakfast if they aren't going to do a good job.

On the plus side, the location is very good and there is an excellent cafe/bakery on the same block, where we went for breakfast on subsequent days. Also, the rooms are big and clean and the shared bathroom is relatively clean (could be cleaned a bit more often, as the shower leaks) and well-fitted, although a proper bathmat would have been more hygienic than the rug currently in use, and a hand towel would also be nice, so that you don't have to take your towel with you if you're just using the loo.

The towels were very thin and there was no where to hang them in the room, so they stayed wet and they weren't replaced unless you specifically asked.

Finally, the common bathroom is not situated with the rooms, but rather you have to walk through the reception area and the breakfast room/kitchen. This is not so far, but the staff often had friends hanging out in the reception area late at night and it's not so nice to be a female and have to walk past a group of guys in your nightgown when you need to use the loo. There are 3 rooms (plus the staff) sharing one bathroom, so the potential for waiting is high. It didn't really cause us too many problems, but I think the provision of another toilet or at least handbasin where you can brush your teeth would be good.

Overall, I think a little more attention to detail and a more professional attitude of the staff would help this place improve and be a good value place to stay.

  • Liked — location
  • Disliked — low quality of breakfast
  • Tips/Secrets — make sure you get a room with an ensuite, they're much nicer. Also don't bother with the breakfast go to the cafe just down the block.

A basic but nice place. Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean. Good location for public transport. There was a kitchenette available for common use. Above average for this type of place.
