“100% guest- and petfriendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2010

If you don't like animals in the house and you are looking for an intimate, romantic stay this might not be the place for you.
But if you like to meet interesting people (like Ilaria herself) and you are looking for accomodation where you and your pet are really welcome then Happy Goose is the right choice. And you'll have no trouble to park your car here either.

“The vomiting alarm clock”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

Well - what can I say - I was woken at 5am by the hostess vomiting - disgusting - not worth a cent. We had to get our own breakfast after organising with Allaria the time we needed to go - but of course she was sick in bed - managing to get her money though before going to back to bed.

The bathroom was old and mouldy. No hot water when we arrived after walking for ages to find the apartment.

It is cheap but far from the city of Roma - save your money and book in a nice place - the best thing was leaving.

“Quiet and Peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2007

Wonderful host Ilaria showed us how to use local buses and often drove us to the correct stop. Her efforts made for a wonderful visit and chance to rub shoulders with locals as we navigated the sights of Rome.
Great breakfasts, Good company, loved breadfast on the terrace and the great view. If I am fortunate and able to return to Rome we would definitely stay ay the Happy Goose with Ilaria again.

Im from South africa and stayed in rome for two week at the happy gosse with my fianse. Our trip was ever so pleasant due mainly to the Happy Goose and its lovely host Ilaria, whatever we needed help with, she was able to advise us on and the accomadation itself was superb.
We will be definately coming back!.... Thanx Ilaria.

“Far...but Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 June 2007

I will admit that we had a little trouble finding the B&B. It is quite out of the center of Rome and not many people knew the street we were looking for, including the bus driver whose bus we were on...:~(
But having said that, for the price, it was a fine place. Clearly, for us, when we left it was for the whole day and when we came back, it was to sleep. It is too far out to come to for a quick shower and change of outfit which would have been nice.
Our host was the father at first, as Ilyana(sp?) was out of town the first couple of days we were there. And what a dear he was! So attentive and helpful. He spoke English and graciously endured our Italian.
There was a friend of the host there who explained the public transportation system, gave us a great map and was also very helpful.
When she finally came, we talked for an hour about this that and the other! She was really kind.
The room was large and so was the bathroom. They were clean and comfortable. Nothing to complain about at all.
Breakfast consisted of tea, coffee, biscottis (plain & almond), toast, jam, butter, orange juice, and/or pineapple juice. And they were generous with it all.
While we were there, there were no other guests except for one night.
All in all, although we appreciated our hosts , the room and breakfast, we'll opt to pay a little more so that we can be a little closer to the city.
