This small family hotel has everything needed for a successful stay in Rome. No excessive luxury but everything was fine, clean and well cared for.
The breakfast is for Italian standards, rich and tasty (coffee ordered separately) Operation is personable and friendly. At the central receptionEnglish is spoken and there is a standard service for printing boarding passes. Good working free wifi and a nice little flower garden where drinks can be used. Despite the average rating you will get a great hotel accommodation here at an affordable price.
Bus and subway easily accessible and good restaurants nearby

This is a small but convenient right next to the main train station the rooms are very small with the main bedroom upstairs. Complimentary breakfast, complimentary self parking if there's any available. I was very pleased with this Quaint Hotel in the center of Rome.

We stayed 4 nights in Villa Della Rosa. At a comfortable 5 minute walk from Station Termini where all mayor trains arrive and the busses from the airport too.
Its a grand old lady, lots of great stucco details in the rooms of a by gone era and high ceilings. (appr 5 meter)
I would rate this as 3 stars maybe 3.5 as for italian budget hotel this is very fancy.
A cosy hotel with a nice atmosphere.

It has the conveniences of an elevator (a small 4 person), spacious big rooms with a wardrobe in which there are clothes hangers present. As well as a safe with a code you change to your liking (10 digit) It even fits a small laptop!

The mattress is for italian standards comfortable ( more often HARD in other places as other reviews read). Negatives, our spring bottom was damaged and therefore one side sagged.
The extra pillow sorted that one. As we arrived at 2200 we just wanted to go to sleep.
The bed (again, often) consists of 2 singles with a hard join strip in the middle.
The walls are thin as it started as a villa that would not have been an issue in those days. Now one can hear people in the hallway talk, but i haven't really noticed much inconvenience of it. I hope we weren't too loud with our movies.

There is a big tv with 2 USB input that i will use for movies. The TV channels are all in italian ( synchronized, no subtitles) apart form 2 music channels
Some of the rooms are on the street side and some road noise can be heard. We were on the 3rd floor, (room 328) it's not too bad at all.
POWER. there are quite a few plugs around that fit standard (north) european plugs as well as south european. A converter is therefore not needed.

There is a AC in each room, i tried it quickly but couldn't make it heat. Probably a setting for winter as cooling works. There are radiators in the room and (big) bathroom to keep you warm and we haven't had any issues.
The bathroom is spacious and modern. No grubbiness as one can find in many a place around the Mediterranean. Fresh, clean, big WELL DONE. A shower with half bath tub (sitting) glass shower wall, no silly curtains, toilet, bidet, big sink with a useable tap ( you can fill a liter sized bottle under it, again not standard anymore.) Electric shaving is possible with a power socket near the sink. A hairdryer is provided.
Nice towels and all are provided and changed daily when desired.

There is a bar size fridge in the room as well as a phone.
The room is ample lit with nice wall lamps each with a separate switch ( besides the bed)

Breakfast is in the basement, a tasteful area with 8-10 tables (4 seater) where continental breakfast is served. They have nice (filter?) coffee, friendly staff, a good selection to please most people. As they don't really know dark bread it's often all white, but surprisingly here there is tasteful sliced dark bread available, as well as croissants, 2 types of cornflakes and buns.
Nice juices ( multivitamin, orange juice and a pompel juice, its a sweet grapefruit juice which is, again, very tasteful.
Nice yoghurts ( fruit varieties, 1 person servings prepacked) 2 types of ham and cheese. Plums in juice and fruitmix. Also a cake variety is available.
A little bin on each table keeps it form cluttering. The room has some nice pictures/ art on the wall displaying italian countryside as well as 1930's style cookie tins and emaille signs.

NOTE: italians don't eat breakfast, don't expect english breakfasts or anything extravagant.
Maybe in the hilton or best western, but not in traditional italian hotels!

Another BUDGET tip, have your dinner at (late) lunch time ( before 4pm) many nice meals available as the restaurants are pretty empty before dinnertime starts 7pm>.

There is free wifi that meets the current standards. Fast enough, but forget about downloading movies or anything.

Also a little desk with chair is present as well as a piece of art on the wall.

Receptionist and staff is very friendly and helpful. Ask if you need anything.

NO off street parking as far as i'm aware.
Nice gardens for outdoor seating and relaxing.

A big compliment to the hotel and it's staff and i will stay again when back in Rome.

Room tip: 328 seems to be one of the biggest rooms. Its on the road side but with appr 30m2 (excl bathroom) its big.

The picture on the website is probably taken in one of the best rooms of the hotel. It was very noisy, if anyone in the hotel made noise you would hear it. But one of the largest problems of the hotel is the church next door. Every day at 7 am in the morning the church bells would make noise for about 30 seconds. Another problem was the breakfast, there was nearly nothing to choose from. But on a positive note the staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly.

Great location close to Rome Termini, most of the staff helpful. Rooms were always clean, only suggestion would be a jug in room and tea and coffee. In our bathroom our shower head kept falling off needs to be fixed. Only small things to fix. Overall a good stay.
