Start off by saying...it'd be best if you knew how to converse fluently in Spanish or Italian to be able to communicate with the owner, Mario. I understand Spanish, but can't really converse, but my buddy could, so that made our stay a little more tolerable. Mario though - TREMENDOUS host and owner. Could not have asked for a nicer guy, despite my language barrier with him. His kindness certainly transcends spoken language. Anyway, BBIG was very clean, very well kept, and very spacious, even for the 6 of us(only my buddy and I knew each other) who stayed there during my 3 nights. Probably a 10 minute walk to the Cornilia metro stop in 1 direction, another 10 minute walk in the other direction to a taxi stand, and bus stops all along Via Gregorio. Great pizza shops within walking distance, all in the very nice neighborhood surrounding BBIG. And a laundromat. Which came up huge when we arrived. If there is any downside, it's not about BBIG itself, it's just that where it is...is not really central to the "action" of Rome. But if you want to stay in a nice, quiet neighborhood, then this is the place to stay(not sure why everyone is complaining about street noise...if you're a proper tourist in Rome, you come back here and just pass right out and sleep through everything!!)
Yay Mario!!
