traveled to Rome in Dec'09/Jan'10 with a sibling; we decided to stay at this hotel based on 1) the location 2) the price 3) the reviews online 4) the website
Overall it was a very disappointing stay.
The location is not central. It's on a hill, outside of the city center and the closest subway station is 10-15min away. The hotel is located on a small plazza which sees a lot of traffic, starting ~6am. The rooms are on the 1st and 2nd floor of a residential building. We stayed in a room on the 1st floor, at street level - basically where you would expect a doctor or lawyer's office. The main office was upstairs and there was a complicated door setup to go from our room to the B&B lobby.
Because of the location (street level on a busy street), the room was quite noisy. In addition to that, we could clearly see anyone walking in the corridor or talking in the next room. On top of it the bed were squeaking. Overall it was a bad experience.
Service was downward terrible. We had asked if we could move to a single room on the last day because one of us had to fly back unexpectedly early - there was a single room available but our request was met with a flat refusal. Then the manager started to yell at us over the phone... I didn't think our request was outrageous especially since we had not paid yet. In all cases, the staff's response was totally inapropriate.
One last word: breakfast was stingy and served in the corridor / lobby outside of our room - not in a dining room. And if you want some coffee, they give you a token to go to the vending machine in the lobby. Beh..
