I agree with the previous reviewer that Rosa is really what makes this place great. We stayed for 1 night on our way back from the Amalfi coast. We wanted a simple, clean place with a bit of personality, and that's just what we got.

The rooms are pretty basic, but the house is just lovely and Rosa is warm and friendly. Although we didn't speak any Italian and she speaks little English, we still had fun communicating over breakfast in her living room. She topped it off with homemade apricot jam and even gave us a little bottle to take home with us. For one night in Naples before heading home Casa Chiara was a far better option than a generic hotel..

Convenient and affordable place if you want to be close to the city centre. Great view from the terrace!! The beds are simple but comfortable.

We are a young couple and recently stayed at Casa Chiara for 3 nights. We had a great time and Rosa's hospitality was amazing.

Rosa greeted us on arrival and took us to the nearby garage (2 min walk) where we parked our car for 3 nights (15 euro/day). We were able to use the car during the day for a trip to Amalfi coast.

We then went to our room which in fact was her own room! This was very nice of her. It had a comfortable double bed and balcony with view over Naples. The bathroom was separate and we shared this with rosa. That was a little strange but ok. The bathroom didn't have a shower (only a bath which is common in Europe) but other bathrooms did have a shower so ask for this if you want it. There is a computer with Internet access that you can use. There is also Wifi but rosa didn't know the password so we couldn't use this!

Breakfast was fruit and croissants which were ok. Rosa allowed us to do 2 loads of washing and even offered to do it for us. Although we didn't get her to do it, this gives you an idea of how friendly and hospitable she is.

The location is quite good, about halfway up the hill to the vomero region. Its on a main road but not too noisy. There are a couple of restaurants closeby but not much else. It is located between 2 furniculas, about 5 mins walk to both. These are like big cable cars that take you up and down the hill to the main parts of town.

I would definitely recommend Casa Chiara. It was really like staying with your own Italian nonna!
As well as italian, Rosa is also able to speak French and English. If however your looking for a stay with all the trimmings of a hotel then this probably isn't the place for you.

If you are planning on spending some time in Naples or just passing through, I would highly recommend staying at Casa Chiara. The house is beautiful and clean and offers magnificent panoramic views of Naples, Mt. Vesuvius, and Capri from your private balcony and roof terrace. You are a short walk or cab ride to the historic center and many of the sites.

Rosa was an amazing host and made us feel at home with breakfast each morning, great Neapolitan coffee, homemade jam and her delicious limoncello. She was also very helpful in providing dining recommendations and guidance on what to see and do in Naples. Although Naples is going through a bit of a difficult period right now with mounting trash in the streets, our stay at Casa Chiara was a perfect refuge at the end of a long day and made for a very memorable stay in the city.
