The hotel rooms and facilities are of a high standard. Breakfast in the morning offers a wide good choice, while lunch menu offers good cafe level food. Evening meals are of a high quality although we found there was too much to eat especially for the children. Initially we thought the food was expensive however it's no more than the cost of equivalent quality food in Sorrento itself.
The hotel is situated 3 miles outside of Sorrento. The hotel has it's own private shuttle bus which runs regularly from early morning to night. The bus can get full so you need to arrive on time. I would not walk along the winding roads to Sorrento especially in the evening as there is little space at the edge of the roads.
There is a small path opposite the entrance that leads down to a small beach/marina. The beach is sandy and has a few alcoves for the kids to play in. However it gets busy and the beds are expensive to hire. There are a few cafe's and shops offering basic fast food. It's a steep hill down to the beach although I few people struggled up with prams and the like.
If you arrive by car there limited spaces at the front of the hotel but on our visit in August there was also a space and we were never blocked in.
