We came upon this hotel from the train station. It was OK, breakfast not remarkable, service not great but OK. The first night we stayed in a room overlooking the street, it was pretty noisy and smelled not-so-fresh. We complained about the freshness issue the next morning and they moved us to a room in the back, which was much better. At checkout they knocked 10 euro off the price for the problem, which I appreciated.

Right in front of the train station, easy to find, clean, large rooms, ensuite, air con and a good price considering we just turned up! Good location on the Sorrento high street. We had the room with the balcony on the main road it did get a little noisy in the morning with the windows shut but we had to be up anyway so didn't bother us!

Staying with 2 other couples and we all agree this is bad. Level of cleaning is very poor, shower screens have not been cleaned properly for a long time. Noise levels are too high to get a proper nights sleep. You can hear people inside and outside to hotel very clearly. Seem to be many small B&B's for similar price which are much nicer. Was meeting my friend in Sorrento who was travelling the last leg of her trip in Italy, so booked this hotel due to it's locality to the bus and train station. However, as she arrived there before me, they managed to allocate her the wrong room as a) they got the booking wrong and b) apparently they didn't have any twin bedrooms left? So we ended up sleeping in the smallest of double beds in the smallest of the rooms with a shower that only had half a door (which meant water splashed out all over the floor every time it was used) and we had a window facing out onto the main street...it was one of the noisiest nights I've ever experienced in my life as the walls are paper-thin and you can literally hear everything happening outside.

The next morning we came down to request a room change for the proper room we had booked. After given a set of keys, we visited the new room, which stunk so bad that we went down to reception again to request another room change. At this point, I think the receptionist just wanted us out of his hair and so upgraded us to one of the better twin bedrooms on the other side of the hotel, away from the noise etc. This room ended up actually OK, with more channels on TV (including CNN and BBC World, which the other room didn't have access to), a bigger bathroom and one double and one single bed. The room was also more spacious, so suited us fine.

Towels were changed daily and beds were made, so that was fine. It's not the cleanest hotel so don't expect that when you come here, but as we were hardly in the room, we didn't care so much.

The breakfast consisted of cornflakes, muesli, cheap fruit yoghurts and 2 types of small pastries, along with toast and the usual array of jams etc. (no butter though). The coffee/beverages machine was awful, dispensing undrinkable hot drinks so avoid if you can. Otherwise it's adequate enough.

One thing that was noticeable was that you are requested to hand in your keys by certain members of reception but as they change the staff frequently, when we would come back in the evening and request the keys to our room, the person didn't even check to see if we were the right people and just handed over keys without question....

Sorrento is a pretty town but not much to do at all. Close to Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii and near the marina for boats to Positana and Capri. Check buses for cheaper route alternatives.
