My wife and I are currently backpacking through Europe. As a couple of Aussies, we've stayed at many hostels and this one really impressed us.
6 categories to cover off in my opinion to write a useful review; price, location, bedrooms, bathroom, noise and staff.
At €49, good value in our opinion for the location and quality of room. You can walk everywhere, buses and metro only minutes away. Great restaurants surround the hostel in this very pretty location with it's tree lined streets. Feels like Paris without the noise and crowds! Felt very safe walking around in the evening.
Bedroom very large stylish art-deco room. Would have loved aircon in ours, but the fan did the job. (Aircon rooms coat €57 I think).
Shared bathrooms are totally fine - very clean (cleaned daily).
No street noise for us in the back room, but experienced other loud drunk guests coming back at 4am and talking like no one else was staying there. (Some signs up asking guests to respect other guests after midnight would go along way!)
Jenny the manager (filling in we think she said) is an absolute star. Always smiling, laughing and incredibly helpful. Always offered good activity tips etc for us.
Highly recommend those on a budget who want a great location to stay here. If it's more pricey than what you're used to, you'll save the difference on not having to use taxis as it's in such a great location.
