“lovely small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2008

My family and I have just returned from a very relaxing holiday staying at the Hotel Jardin Milenio in Elche. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout our stay.

The rooms were very big..our room didn't seem cramped at all even with the 3 of us in there and they were really clean. The maids did a wonderful job everyday maintaining the high standard of cleanliness. The mattresses are a little firm, however this didn't stop us from sleeping really well. On arrival, my husband asked for extra pillows for me and they arrived very quickly to our room. Our son's bed was a single 'sofa bed' and I'm assured that it was very comfortable and roomy.

There are 2 places to eat at the hotel - the 'La Taula' restaurant and a cafeteria/bar.The service and the food quality was good in both. In Elche itself there are many nice places to eat, we especially enjoyed our meals at the following....
El Ganivet - a taperia and restaurant.
Lago D' Como - italian restaurant.
Datil De Oro - very good spanish dishes in the municipal park restaurant (also if travelling with children try the road train which leaves from nearby the restaurant throughout the day).
We also had a very nice meal (excellent rices and fish) at La Goleta Restaurant in Alicante.

The swimming pool at the hotel is a very good size and ideal for swimming, it would be nice to have a few more sunbeds at very busy times. Good sized pool towels are available free of charge each day. There is a small play area by the pool in the hotel grounds and many good play areas throughout the town in the numerous park areas.

Elche was a really lovely place to visit and we will return in the future to this hotel. There is a large El Corte Ingles in Elche as well as a large shopping centre and numerous small shops ...ideal for a bit of retail therapy. We had read about the palm forests before going, however it is a wonderful sight to see as you approach Elche for the first time and see so many palms. The Hotel Jardin Milenio is situated among the palms which allows for a very relaxing time.

“We felt deceived”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 July 2008

We booked a room with a doubled bed on the hotel site for two persons, not a twin bed. We confirmed it by phone but when we arrived we were assigned a twin room. We complained and they say, very rudely that it was not on the reservation as a contract, only on the remarks. When we told them about the confirmation by phone they said it has been a misunderstanding, taking at stake my credibility. We could not change the hotel as we had a wedding and the other hotels were full for the rate we wanted. They offered us to change to their other hotel in Elche at double price!!! we asked for the manager and the recepcionist told us that he/she will call us but never did. The treat was really bad and not professional at all. The rest of the room is ok and the swimming pool too but why do I have to sleep with my husband worse than at home? If I has known there were twin beds I would never have come to that hotel! We felt really deceived and the personnel did not show any experience. Hope this review is useful for couples who want to go to this hotel and make a contract for the type of bed or choose other hotel.

“Understated excellence with great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2007

This is the way all hotels should be run: staff that are helpful but not too intrusive, building, rooms, interior, etc. in excellent condition, spacious rooms, everything well designed but not too pompous, not too many rooms, good amenities (pool large enough to swim laps, terraces, car parking, good restaurant with pleasant outdoor seating) all well-laid out. Good quality food in both the restaurant and the cafeteria.
Stayed here for just under a week with wife and daughter and what made it excellent was not that it was so much better than another hotel but simply the fact that all the ingredients addded up to a perfectly pleasant stay made we want to come again; something we don´t normally do.
The Milenio belongs to the same owners as the Huerto del Cura hotel, also in the same palm garden in the Elche city centre, but the Milenio is more modern.
