Rooms at the Casa Otoño have seen better days. It was a great place to stay in the 80's and survived well in the 90's, but has suffered somewhat of late since Mr. Magoo passed on. We stayed upstairs once for several days during the fiesta and it was an experience, to say the least, but it’s someplace I would not readily recommend for someone looking for any level of comfort. If you want to spend a few days in the heart of the fiesta, then the Casa Otoño remains one good option, but can only be considered somewhat better than staying at the H. La Perla.

The rooms at the Casa Otoño are not really set up as a hotel, but are actually the owner’s apartment in the city which they rent out during the fiesta, so don’t expect luxury, or even a bathroom in your room. For that, you’ll have to consider staying an actual hotel, or renting an apartment.

We went to this place because the normally highly reliable Cadogan Guide gave it a positive review. Mistake. It was a dump.

We had asked for rooms with bath.

One room, the size of a closet had no window , and a open vent over the door so that all the noise of the hotel came roaring in. The bathroom was a shared one down the hall.

The second room had a sliver of a window, perhaps 9 inches wide opening out between two walls into the exhaust system for the restaurant kitchen. The bathroom appeared to be a converted balcony. With care one could use the toilet.

To be fair they only charged 13 euros for the closet, but at 45 euros for the other we were well ripped.

Curiously, the restaurant downstairs, where we ate once, was quite decent tho more expensive that better restaurants in that area.
