At the time of writing, the hotel has been open for just about a year. From the moment the front door is opened for you (yes, it still happens) you are made to feel like the only guest. Our car was valet-parked under the square painlessly, bags delivered to the room and everybody smiles.
We were dressed from the beach after a 1hr drive. Not a problem; treated like royalty.
The double, was two single pushed together but you needed binoculars to see the other side. The soft drinks in the mini-bar are free and the alcoholic ones are charged. It's not the worst.
The air conditioning is very efficient but the control is yours.
Bedroom was turned down and a cinammon shortbread was a welcome change to a crummy chocolate. Then ... there was a pre-printed weather forecast for the next day waiting for us. Not a complaint, but I wish I had known it was going to rain before I tipped up at 01:00hrs drenched!
The bathroom and shower deserves a mention. It took ages to get out of. Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to turn it off.
It's definitely a long-weekender. It would be fine for a week if you travel light. Central Old Town? You bet! Stroll maybe 6 minutes to see twerps throw themselves in front of bulls and retire back to the private garden.
We're dashing away and haven't experienced the food. My feeling is that as long as you pre-warn them you want to eat, there will be somebody available to cook you a splendid meal.
Took an extended look around the hotel. THey have a whole floor devoted to business meetings. I reckon it could easily handle 20-30 people with some breakout rooms.
The free Wi-Fi has enabled me to send this report. Ask at reception for the codes, or read the bumf in the room.
Go and enjoy. This is my third visit to Pamplona ... having found Palacio Guedulain, I'll not be staying anywhere ele.
