I stayed here for a month Dec and Jan and it was like a second home. The staff were friendly, rooms really nice, very close to the metro station ( Walking 5 mins). Free internet is offered only in the coffee shop but it was quite good and always available. Rooms were quite spacious and cozy. If I am back would love to stay in this hotel again.

I stayed in the hotel for 4 days during New Year's season and I'd rate it with a 3.5. The room was very clean and spacious, the bathroom was nice and big, though the view from the room was not that fabulous even from the fifth floor because the emergency stairs were partially obstructing the view. The staff at the reception was not that friendly; they do their job and that's it, no smiles. Likewise, I could hear the noise coming from the next room and the hall, so I think the hotel should definitely invest in more robust doors, for instance. I could sleep well, the bed was very nice, but if you don't have the luck to have calm neighbors, I think it can be hard to fall asleep. In terms of location, the metro is very close (5-8 minutes walk) and it is not located in the city center which was I intention because I came to the city by car. If you are driving, I advise you to keep the car in the hotel's parking (€21 per day), because outside you have to pay and it does not allow you to do it above 2h which is quite limiting. In the end, I'm not sure if I'll return to this hotel, maybe I'll try another one. By Marriot, but not Marriot.

We stayed here in May 2011 because it turned out the hotel we originally booked was in the middle of the Plaza de la Puerta del Sol protests. We felt it was important to have some quiet at night, especially at the very beginning of our trip. This hotel was very clean, and modern, and had some nice amenities -- including the free mini-bar with soft drinks that was replenished daily. Lemon fanta fix! Also the beds were incredibly comfortable. The staff were friendly, and helpful (and we came just as this place was switching over to Marriott so we heard some about that). We also got an excellent price, even at the last minute. The location was ok - certainly doable, especially if you are comfortable navigating public transportation and/or are willing to pay for a taxi. It probably took about 35-40 minutes to get from the hotel to the Prado for example, if you took the metro. We mostly did that, although one night we took a cab which was reasonable because we split it four ways. We did not eat the breakfast because it seemed pretty expensive. We didn't spend much time in the neighborhood. It was certainly safe there, but we had trouble picking out a place to eat. Probably if we spoke better Spanish, or had known we were coming here further in advance the food situation would have been fine. Overall, I might go back here if it was an incredible deal again, but would probably try to stay closer to the downtown if possible.

We really enjoyed this hotel, but it was far from downtown Madrid. And ten minutes to the train station. Breakfast was extra & pricey.
Free Internet was good.
