Enjoyed our stay at 1898 hotel. We had a standard room which was big enough with a small window onto a courtyard. Rooftop pool and bar are nice. Location just off las ramblas was perfect. In the heart of the action but still quiet at night. Enjoyed breakfast at the trendy cafe next door. Would stay again.

Stayed in Hotel 1898 when we arrived in Spain for a three week vacation. Great way to start the trip! This is a top notch hotel. Two outstanding features is the quality of the rooms and the roof top terrace. After long days of sight seeing the roof top terrace was an amazing refuge to relax and wind down. The Mojitos are great!

What a great place. The hotel was easy to get to. It is an easy bus ride into town from the airport. The airport express drops you off about two blocks from the hotel. We then departed Barcelona by train which was extremely quick and easy as there are two Metro stops within a two minute walk.

As for the property - amazing. We had a standard room which was small but stylish and efficient. The rooftop pool and bar area was a great place to relax and cool down after a long day sightseeing. The hotel also has a small gym, an indoor pool, steam room and sauna. The hotel is in a great location and is very well run. The staff were very nice and always pleasant to deal with. Nice job!

Stepping off the madness of the Barcelona streets, this hotel is a wonderful haven. Beautifully decorated, professional service and a great location.
Rooftop terrace is great for a relax during the day or a drink in the evening.
Just make sure that you don't get a room directly under the roof terrace on the 6th floor. Footsteps from the bar staff on the wooden floor above is not good at all… sounds like a herd of elephants walking over the top of you!
We didn't eat in the hotel as there were so many good local places so close - including around the market.

Room tip: Beware room 633 and others directly under the rooftop bar

We know our hotels and trust me this place wont disappoint you.The rooms are small...so be warned...and pay up as much as you can afford and get an outdoor terrace. The service and food(with the exception of room service burger which was horrible)...is fantastic.Seriously...every person ,waiter, bartender, and cleaner is the absolute best. The bar upstairs on roof is the best, relaxed place...with awesome food and relaxed ...Ibiza feel. The building and decor awesome as well as location.Monika was the manager that went above and beyond, thanks guys.

Room tip: pay up to a colonial suite if budget will afford.
