I walked in here without booking anything in Barcelona. My experience was pretty alright. It's true that they don't allow alcohol in the hostel; however, it's just a matter that alcohol tends to make people loud and rowdy when others want to sleep. Most of the people in this hostel are travelers.

What I really didn't like was the fact that what I paid more as a walk in than if I had booked it online through hw or hb. If you have large luggage, you may have a difficult time hauling it upstairs. You have to climb two floors, as the hostel is on the third floor.

It's $2.50 for the blanket. Breakfast was cereal and dry toast. Free wifi. Free computer usage for those without a wireless device. Location is excellent just off Las Ramblas. Receptionists speak both English and Spanish. Free locker (small locker) for personal things. Bathrooms are cleaned everyday. There's only a hot plate in the kitchen, no oven. The meeting areas, a room with a couch and a love seat, the kitchen, and the seats behind the computers are small, but big and intimate enough for people to start chatting.

The only thing that I can say its: to take care with the booking manager of the hostel, his name is Pablo Flores.

I made the reserve (paying 4 nights) for a 8 people room by email always in contact with Pablo Flores. He has said to me that everything was in order, totally perfect. And when my friends had arrived over there the man on the reception (that was not his fault) had said that they hadn't any reservation.
Finally, when they resolved it .. in the hostel weren't space enough for the 8 of them, so 2 of them had to go to another hostel, incredible!

One of the sentences of Pablo was: "I can manipulate people if I want", but what he have done in all the emails and in the reserve formalities was not manipulate was to lie.

About the amenities..,an example: they call 'kitchen' to a room with a microwave..

At the end, and thanks to the people that is on the reception in the afternoon-night, it wasn't totally horrible.. but, I will never go to this place, I prefer to sleep in the beach or in a camping before than there.

Positives: Great location right near La Rambla and the metro. Free wifi in common areas and lockers in the rooms. The bathroom and rooms were fairly clean. The staff was not the friendliest but not unkind either.

Negatives: It's located up a couple of tall flights of stairs which makes it difficult to get up with suitcases. The rooms are very crowded with too many bunk beds crammed in. One morning, we woke up to a couple having sex on the bunk right next to ours... and we were in a 14-person room! They also charge about 2 euros to store your luggage after check-out.

At first I had to sleep in room with no window! They charged 40euro per night. Horrible, place Don't go there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! k.kiendzierski@gmail.com
