“Great hotel .............A SAD BUT”

Hi I stayed here from Sat4th feb to Monday 6th feb on a football trip with my father and was very impressed with the room we got for the price we paid. The hotel is located right outside Sants station giving easy access to the rest of the city and 10 mins walk to camp nou,it's is spotlessly clean and very helpful staff on reception, however this has been slightly soured by someone helping themselves to a pair of leather boots from my supposedly secure room on Sunday at some point, now entry to the room is by key card only so it could only be a hotel employee as we were the 10th floor,I am still waiting on the hotel management to get back to me and apologise even, the boots were inexpensive but that is totally beside the point, would I stay again I really don't know as the hotel was perfect in every other way.

Room Tip: Dont wear a size seven

Dear Sirs,

My usual review of our clients’ opinions in the web, has sadly lead me to the comments above regarding one of our guests’ stay at Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya. You will advise that this gentleman had an unfortunate incidence that spoiled what could have been a perfect trip to our beautiful city.

My team and I have been really concerned about this matter and already had several conversations with this guest before and after he left the hotel. To the point the room our guest occupied was set out of sale until we found the clue. The Housekeeping team, maids and managers, searched every item upside down, and every piece of furniture was removed from site until the boots were found.

We are so happy to inform that our guest will be contacted and his properties returned in a timely manner. On our charge, obviously, taking into account the nuisance related. We’re only sorry we could not find the boots earlier and offer our guest a nice ending for his stay at that very moment.

In any case, I would like to take the opportunity to express to this community our absolute pride on our employees’ passion for service, who did not give up until the incidence was solved, to our guest satisfaction.

Now, we can only ask for his kindness and apologize. We would consider ourselves the most privileged, should he give us a second chance to prove him we don’t want to lose of sight the basic issue, that is our guests’ care.

My sincere gratitude to this community kindness and attention.
Faithfully,

Esther Comin

“my "home" in Barcelona”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

been travelling on business to Barcelona for the past 10 years and st of the times I stayed at the Torre Catalunya. The primary reason to stay there is the location almost right next to our offices.

Rooms are kept modern and cosy. In such a building it is pretty obvious that the higher floor your room is, the better view to the city you have.

Restaurant on top floor is excellent for a good start in the morning - view is just amazing. Had dinner there once - it was OK, but simply overpriced. seems like they charge for the nightly view...

Room Tip: the higher - the better...

“Convenient location & very modern”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

This hotel is perfectly located near the main train station and various metro stations making it very easy to get to most places in Barcelona, despite not being in the city centre. The main restaurant on the top floor has stunning views of the city and you also have complimentary use of the sister hotel next door that has a rooftop pool. Although this isn't quite as high end as the photos would make you believe, it is still worth a visit for the views alone. Our room was large and spacious and nicely furnished - all areas of the hotel have a very modern and clean feel to them. Only downside was the shower was very low mounted on the wall so even myself at 5'4" had to stoop!

Splendid location: 15 mins from airport by train, not in touristy Barcelona but minutes away from everything as the Sants Station is next door and that puts you at the centre of a very efficient transport network.
Rooms are very clean, beds are comfy. I stayed in the suite and that offers amazing views of Barcelona, both by day and by night. Nice restaurants nearby. Simply ask Staff who are brilliant and welcoming.
Only had a drink in the top floor restaurant and a coffee at the ground floor bar. Service was excellent.
Very hard to fault this hotel. It's no-nonsense and yet very warm. I would strongly recommend. It certainly is different from the big hotel chains...

Room Tip: The suite is brilliant but it may offer more space than you actually need. You get a room and a big...

“Great place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We visited this place in June 2010, meant to write a review ealier, but delayed until today.

We have travelled one month in Paris, Italy and Spain. By far, this is the best and most comfortable stay in our journey.

The location is excellent, we took hight speed train from paris to Barcelona, and then took a local train to Sants station, the hotel is just two minutes walk from the station. We arrived quite earlier and the check-in is not ready. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, when we asked if there is any place we can go. We were advised turn right and walk on the main street, just about 10- 15 minutes walk, we arrived at the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya,( is a museum of Catalan visual art). It's the most pleasant and magnificent place, you can climb up the stair to the top of the building, you have a overview of the whole Barcelona. One thing need to be careful, is some gypsi kids trying to steal from you. Actually, On the way back, the police is running after two kids passing us. It's rather funny.

About the room, Its a standard room for two, We stayed on the tenth floor, the room is huge and have a really nice bed. The bathroom and toliet is seperated as well. I am really enjoy watching the Spanish TV too.
It is very clean. The air conditioning worked well.

There is a convenience store nearby and there is chemist in the train station (2 mins walk).
We had lunch at a caffe on the main road on the right side of the hotel. There is a seafood resturant about 5-8 mins walk. Hotel staff told us that. Its a lovely place. I really enjoyed their fish.

It's about 20-30 mins walk to their main shopping centre. (Sorry I forget the name, ask the hotel staff ) there are two metro station next to the hotel. Which is very convenient if you want to go to the city or other sightseeing place.

Anyway, We really enjoyed our stay there. I would definitely go back if I ever visit Barcelona again.
