I stayed here for 6 nights whilst attending a conference at the nearby Centro de Congresos, as did several other of my colleagues.
Good points: The hotel itself is beautiful - really, really nice grounds, good pool, friendly staff (especially those at breakfast, very helpful and nice!), very comfortable and clean rooms, huge balconies, very quiet, great location (15 / 20min walk into the centre of Puerto, and very close to the lovely Parque de Taoro).
Bad points: Several of us were burgled in our sleep. None of us were on the ground floor, and in the master bedroom there are sliding doors onto the balcony, So some of us had the doors open a little at night for ventilation (no A/C in the rooms). On the Tues night of my stay, someone came into my room whilst i was sleeping and took my phone. Others had cash stolen in the same way. We told the hotel staff, and they didn't even so much as call the police - we had to sort it ourselves.
However, the culprits returned on the Thursday night, as given away by evidence such as broken plants on my balcony, muddy footprints walking up to the doors, and a garden chair left against the wall where they've used it to gain access to the next balcony, I told reception, they didn't even so much as come look at it, let alone call the police again. Most hotels would have some security guard to make sure they don't come back, but they've done NOTHING, and I felt far from safe for the rest of my stay.
So as I say, lovely hotel... but it's not in the slightest bit secure.
