Just returned. A very nice hotel, right on the promenade and easy to get to directly from the airport on the No 60 bus. Rooms vary in standards but we had a lovely suite (710) at the front of the hotel. No sea view from this room but had the sun all morning and on viewing the back of the hotel (seaview) from the rooftop pool I was glad we had an inland view as some of the back rooms ( mainly on the right at the end) had a sheer drop both in front and to the side of them. We did not look at the side rooms but from the outside I would imagine, as the previous reviewer found, they would be dark, dingy and overlooking poor areas. We found the breakfast superb, no complaints at all and enjoyed all the food so much we ate in the hotel for two evenings. It was well priced in comparison to local restaurants and the chocolate fountain was a delight. Staff on reception knowledgeable and friendly but the bar service was a little slow, both in placing and paying for orders. We also ate in the pool bar and again this was an exceptional meal (snack). The newly opened health spa is brilliant with sauna, turkish bath, dead sea flotation room, massage table and a jacuzzi pool which only opened the day we arrived. Although the gym was reported as open a lot of the equipment was out of use and we did not actually see anyperson in the gym so I can't comment on the equipment. The rooftop swimming pool, sun loungers and changing facilities were also immaculate. Room facilities were adequate but basic, toiletries, fridge, but no kettle. Some of the bathroom was a little aged with a leaky bath tap and a hairdryer that had been glued together but these were minor issues. The hotel is a little dated in parts and I would suggest it is more suitable to mature/later life age group but in saying that it is very easy to leave the hotel and find local bars/restaurants. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope to return again at sometime in the future.
