“High standard with some constraints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Sheraton Fuerteventura is surely one of the best choice in Fuerteventura aiming at an high standard, without compromises. Considering the decent weather also during the winter time it makes suitable a trip to Fuerteventura with a chance to experience a luxury environment at a good price. The huge orange structure with all amenities (various swimming pools, SPA, restaurants, beach, golf and a wonderful tropical garden) and the expected level of service offer an absolute correct value for money. The rooms are particularly impressive, very wide, well furnished and with a huge bathroom. All rooms have a balcony overlooking the lovely external pools and the beach.
Considering the standard I found some constraints. Firstly there is not a free wifi but internet is charged daily. Despite the cost during my stay of 4 days it never worked in an acceptable way.
This is not nice but at the end the hotel staff recognized the problem and keep out the charge of internet by the final account. Secondly the hotel claims to offer an internal swimming pool but the very nice small pool is part of a SPA charged also to the guest.
So if the weather is not nice you have to pay to use the external pool. Anyway the SPA is very nice. Just it should be useful to be informed about the extra cost before booking.
Coming to the good things I found an outstanding level of breakfast and in general the level of restaurants is high despite the prices higher than the common prices around.
The position of hotel is perfect, just 1 KM out of the touristic resort village Caleta de Fuste, close to a small beach and to a pleasant mall.
At the end if you are searching for a top level Hotel in Fuerteventura Sheraton is ok, but despite the low season price we continue to ask something more. Considering my recent experiences I have to say that many hotels underestimate the need to supply a perfect use of internet (better if free) that also during the holiday has become an essential tool for many guests.

“Family fun and a luxury holiday that's good value for money”

This was our second visit to this Sheraton in early Jan with our 3-year old and we recognised several other couples from the year previous - it's a hotel that gets lots of repeat custom - especially among families with young children and it's not hard to see why: heated pools and children's pool; playground; brilliantly ran kids club - ; mini disco with dance meister extrordinaire, Alex. It's also right next to the beach.
My parents also came with us this time and they particularly enjoyed the exercise programme run by the energetic Tom who gave guests the chance to try everything from aquarobics to archery and tennis - all free of charge. My favourite was the mid morning Pilates on the beach. The gym is very good too, although there was so much to do we didn't have time to try out the spa.
We stayed half board and found the food to be of a very high standard - there was something for everyone. It would be expensive if it wasn't inclusive though. The rooms were big, cleaned and resupplied regularly and came with a generous balcony area.
It's a big hotel and I'd advise sun-lovers thinking of booking to request a room that gets the sun on their balcony. There are lots of shady areas landscaped by trees and the rooms around the sides of the hotel do not get so much sun.
In short we had a brilliant holiday here and seeing our daughter dancing to 'Chu Chu Wah Wah Wah' in the Tenerife Suite every evening gave us reason enough to want to come back next year for more.

Room Tip: It's a popular hotel and fills up quickly - a couple of days before your holiday call up recepti...

“Great holiday”

We had a great holiday in this hotel a few weeks ago. Very well layed out, great rooms and very clean. The food was fantastic and the staff very friendly. There is some entertainment and also a well run Children's club. The animation team is not as present as in other resorts we have stayed in but we did not really mind. The heated pool is lovely and warm for the winter month and the beach in front of the hotel is lovely. The main resort is just a 10-15min walk along the beach front away. Would go there again no doubt at all. The spa is also fantastic.

“We keep coming back for more....”

We stayed for our third time just after New Year for a week with our two young girls and had an excellent time. The rooms are fantastic - clean, spacious and luxurious, the service and food are very good too. All of the staff are helpful and friendly. What we particularly like is that the pools are heated and very clean. With the children's playground, the great mini-disco and kids pool, our children couldn't have been happier, which made for a very happy and stress-free holiday for us! We'll be back!

“Fantastic hotel for young families - a touch of luxury”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Stayed at Sheraton Fuerteventura for a week in September. Large, impressive, hotel on its own beach, great views of the sea and pool area with very good facilities and decor, big marble lobby, drinks on arrival etc. Our room was huge with plenty of 'wow' factor, beautifully decorated, huge luxury bathroom, large balcony with same adjoining room for our children. We really loved the room and it was great to sit out on balcony with a drink after dinner. So nice to stay in a luxurious environment when you've got small kids!

Pool area - fantastic - the kids pool made the holiday it was heated with plenty to do (fountains, slides etc), and shallow enough they didn't need armbands in it, other children congregated there and they all played together. Adult pool also great with bubbles area, all beautifully landscaped with loads of sun loungers, palm trees, waterfall, bridges etc. Kids were in the pool for literally hours at a time having a great time. They did pop along to kids club sometimes - they were always welcome, good facilities and even if just the two of them (hotel quiet as in term time) they would do face painting/drawing etc and had a childrens disco 4 evenings a week - again even if just a few children.

AS everyone has said, the food and drink is expensive but we were full board so food prices didn't bother us. Would definitely say go half or full board. For lunch if full board there is a pool side restaurant (only one open but wide menu), for breakfast and dinner buffet style but food of a very good standard, huge range and good quality. Buffet style with fresh seafood, steaks and fish cooked to order, different theme nights. Staff very welcoming of children and no bother taking them to the restaurant in the evening, relaxed informal environment. Entertainment - music piano etc was pleasant after dinner.

Not much in the area of the hotel - shopping centre next door if you want to stock up on water etc, nice beach and sea at the hotel. we did walk around to the little harbour village - saw camels etc on beach but not worth a repeat trip. Hired car to tour the island which was a nice day out.

Spa - difficult to find and more of a 'health' type spa than a relaxation one - ok for an hour or so but you're not missing out by not going!

All in all, a very relaxed holiday (with 2 x 4 year old), very friendly, professional, luxurious hotel, good service, great food, fab pools. If you want a lot to do in the area its not for you (there are more lively parts of fuerteventura) but for us it was ideal for a chill out holiday in style.

Went with sovereign and had very good service.

Highly recommended.
